Congrats to everyone concerned with NU Football on winning their division of the Big Ten in only their second year in the conference. Now it is on to Indy to take care of business against the Badgers. I'm from Wisconsin and this is a no brainer for me, Go Big Red!!!!!!!!!! I think we have a great shot at beating the Badgers as long as we can play a little more consistantly on offense and hang on to the freaking ball. Turnovers will eventually kill us if we don't do a better job of keeping the ball. Overall, great season for the Huskers, I am really proud of them and hope we can send Tom Osborne out the way he so richly deserves. Go Big Red!!!!!!!

I would like to take the opportunity to congratulate the incredible contributions that Dr. Tom Osborne has made to the University of Nebraska and Collegiate Athletics. He has been a class act his entire career and there will never be anyone like him again. Dr. Tom was a great leader and mentor who turned young boys into great men. The state of Nebraska has been extremely fortunate to have a man like Dr. Tom be the face of the state. I sincerely wish him all the best in a most well deserved and earned retirement. He made a great sacrifice to come back as AD after the Pederson regime, and he did a splendid job in rebuilding the football program. I hope we can send him out with a Big Ten championship. Thanks for everything Dr. Tom!!!!!!

It seems the Packers are starting to peak at the right time. Hopefully the bye week will allow some of the guys to get healthier and we'll get all of them back for the stretch drive and the playoffs. What I am a little worried about is that even though the bye week was needed to get healthy it kind of stops all the positive momentum we have. Regardless, we have the meat of our division schedule coming up and I think we are peaking at the right time and will win the division. The defense is a pleasant surprise with lots of guys stepping up. Go Pack, Go!!!!!

Huskers and the Big Ten

The 'Huskers are doing a great job in the Big Ten in their second year. They have been extremely tough to beat in Lincoln, as has been the case for decades, and they have won several big road games this year. I am really proud of what Bo and the rest of the staff have done so far. The 'Huskers just need to take better care of the football and not get off to such ho-hum starts. I have to say that it was kind of nice to get that call at the goal line yesterday. Maybe a little payback for that horrendous pass interference call against PSU in the early 80s that cost us a National Championship. Anyway, good things are happening with the 'Huskers and the upside is we have a much easier conference schedule in 2013.

Critical game against MSU

THis next game against Michigan State, on the road, is another critical game for the Huskers Big Ten title hopes. It is also critical to show that we can play in the Big Ten and be competitive on the road. I think we have adapted to the new conference fairly well, but there is nothing like a huge road win to give a team the much need confidence down the stretch drive. Last night in Lincoln proved that even the great programs like Wisoconsin, OSU and now Michigan will have a tough time in Lincoln. Now we have to prove we are a threat on the road. Lots of football to be played but I feel a lot better now than I did during the beginning of the 4th quarter of the Northwestern game. Go Big Red!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The Bucs are doing the Packers a huge favor by laying the wood to the Vikings. Lets hope they continue and a W against the hated Vikings. Green Bay still gets to play Minnesota twice and Chicago one more time so the division title is still within reach. I think the Packers are hitting their stride and after two relatively easy wins and then a bye week we should be in pretty good shape. We still need Woodson and Jennings back, but it looks like they will be back for the stretch drive and the playoffs. Go Pack Go!!!!!!!

Let's get rolling to the Big Ten championship game by beating Michigan at home on Saturday in Lincoln. We have a lot to play for and it would be great to get into the Big Ten championship game in our second season in the conference. If we can limit the turnovers and not play from behind we should be able to put Michigan away. Lincoln is still one of the toughest, and best, places to play in the land. Go Big Red!!!!!!!!
