I know this may be out of line on a pro football board. (ignore if you think I shouldn't post here) But I am so damn excited for college football season as well. This is what I would like to see from the BCS for a national champion. We all know that the SEC is the toughest conference. (or we should know that!!) I think every conference MUST follow the SEC's lead and have a championship game. The Pac 10 Must do this. Then, you can ONLY win the national title, if you have won your conference. Let everybody be a part of the BCS. Here's how. Make one more BCS game. Take littler schools, aka, BYU, Fresno STATE, Boise state, and make the conference champion play another conference's champion for ONE spot in a bcs game. So Wac Champion vs. mountain west conference champion play each other for one spot. The top league (usually the SEC) gets one at large. Then you add the +1 format at the end of the bcs games. It annoys me to no end that cellar dwellars like Duke, Vanderbilt, Stanford, have a shot at the national championship, yet football teams like Boise state,BYU, Fresno state have 0 shot. What do you think? Or do you think because we are part of the party, and all the florida schools have a shot at the national title, it doesn't matter?
