Mick McCarthy sacked as Wolverhampton Wanderers manager
Mick McCarthy has paid an almost inevitable price for Wolves' dismal run of form, with the Midlands club announcing the sacking of their manager on Monday morning.
Despite earlier support from the boardroom, McCarthy's position appeared untenable as Wolves slumped to a 5-1 home defeat by West Bromwich Albion on Sunday. At that game, the Wolves support made their discontent plain for the latest time this season. A group of them also stayed behind at Molineux to protest.
Who should be the new England Captain?
IT IS SNOWING IN MANCHESTER
Because I know how much we all love snow weeks, I thought I'd throw a spanner in the works!
Even through its 24+ hours till most of the games start it has started snowing quite lightly in Manchester and isn't expected to finish until Sunday. Other parts of the UK will be the same. Teams should have enough time ot prepae their pitches and the snow falling at the rate it does on a summer's day in Toronto but the Health and Safety of fans travelling to games may see a few games in doubt.
Why Tim Tebow Just Might Be The Second Coming Of Jesus
Or you know maybe there's no God, and Denver's winning because Von Miller is a beast on defense and opposing teams have not been able to scheme for the unconventional offense the team's been running. I guess it could be that too.

Reds blow: Manchester United's Tom Cleverley out until Christmas
Sir Alex Ferguson has confirmed Manchester United midfielder Tom Cleverley will be out of action until Christmas with ankle ligament damage.
One to pick, one to risk and one to miss – Week 10
Not a great week for me or for my selections last week but here’s a review of them:
One to pick – Agbonlahor & Adebayor. 7.5 points combined from two of the mid-range strikers. Bit disappointed by this but I’d stick by my Agbonlahor pick and say that it would’ve been better if Villa had not been reduced to 10 men. Also, my decision to go with Adebayor and Riise over Van der Vart and a “filler” turned out to be a poor one.
One to risk – Rooney & Aguero. We’ll avoid any mention of the score in the Manchester Derby please and just note that despite the two of them performing completely differently on the pitch – one being anonymous for most of the game and the other playing exceptionally well – they scored 10 and 12.5 respectively.
One to miss – Adam & Torres. I take some satisfaction in predicting that Liverpool would struggle at home to Norwich and 4 points for Adam means I’m happy he was in here. Torres managed to score more than most of the Chelsea team by simply not playing against QPR, and that’s about as good as it will get this season for him.
Join me after the jump for this week’s picks.
One to pick, one to risk and one to miss - Week 9
Welcome to the second in the series of one to pick, one to risk and one to miss. And I'll start this week with a bit of an explanation on what I am trying to achieve with this post.
I could write most weeks that the one to pick is Rooney, Augero, Silva, RvP etc but that would be no fun so I will try and come up with a player to pick that is maybe in the second tier of affordability. As for the one to risk, well here I am going to be looking for someone who may be on the slightly expensive side but could possibly return their value or more. If you’re looking to make up ground on people in your league or want some out of the box thinking then this could be your man. For the one to miss, I’ll be looking for a top price player that I wouldn’t touch with a 40 foot pole.
So here's a review of how I did the previous week.
One to pick – Victor Moses and Ben Watson. I was right when I said there would be goals in the Wigan vs Bolton game but I had no idea that Bolton would be so dominant. Returns of 3.5 and 2, respectively, means the one to pick section didn’t get off to a good start.
One to risk – Mario Balotello and Peter Odemwingie. If I’d have followed my risky picks I’d have been much better. Mad Mario returned 18.5 and Odemwingie 10.5 from twenty minutes on the pitch.
One to miss – Nani and Torres. With Nani on the bench and Torres suspended I think I did pretty well here. 0.5 points between them and I think I’ll give myself a pat on the back.
Join me after the jump to see this week’s selections.
One to pick, one to risk and one to miss - Week 8
Woo hoo! I get to write the first fan post. Thanks to you all for picking such a quality blogging platform.
So I have hastily had to come up with an idea for a weekly post that I can write. So here goes.

Titans offensive coordinator Mike Heimerdinger has been diagnosed with cancer and is expected to start chemotherapy treatment almost immediately.
NFL in the UK - Part 1 - The Fridge was bigger than Lineker
Since the Broncos are on a bye week, are 6-0 and the NFL is coming to London, I thought I'd take the opportunity to have a look at the Past, Present and Future of the NFL in the UK. While this won't be completely Broncos based, I will try and weave in some of my Broncos memories. This is a three part series. Today I will concentrate on the beginnings of the NFL in the UK and Europe. Thursday I will look at the impact that Satellite TV and the Interweb has had on the game and in the final part on Sunday, I will look at the future possibilities of expansion and possibilities the NFL has.

Your 2009 Denver Broncos Starting Line Up - v4.0 Final Predictions
Since the end of April, just after the draft, I have been monitoring the potential 53 man roster that the Broncos will start the season with. Obviously, 5 months of practices and training and injuries has changed the roster quite considerably since the first time I made the predictions. So now I am bringing together all 3 previous rosters with a prediction on how the final roster will look when the last round of cuts are made. (Read left to right form version 1 to 4)

3 Things - that make me think positively
This time of any sports season is great. Everyone is equal. No one has hit anyone, no one has got injured and if you're lucky enough to support a team in the first part of the alphabet your team sits atop the division. I'm normally a positive chap and I like to think the best of things - you may say I wear orange tinted glasses, I've drunk the Kool Aid and I'm on board the bus. So I thought I'd start what I hope to be the first of a new series called "3 Things" with three things that are making me think positively about the Broncos 09 season. There are more than three things but keeping it to three means I cut out the waffle.

Your 2009 Denver Broncos Starting Line Up v3.1 Offense
Welcome to part 3.1 of my series looking at the potential starters and roster spots available. Part 3.0 was dedicated entirely to Defense and parts 1 and 2 are still available to. They look at the situation on the roster straight after the draft and after OTAs. I'm hoping to have version 4.0 out before the first official depth chart.
The offensive roster is much easier than the defensive one to put together. On the surface, there's much less competition and more areas where the leaders and starters are clear. I'm subtitling this one - The "Can't We Get Centers with Names That Are Easy to Spell" post.

Your 2009 Denver Broncos Starting Line Up v3.0 Defense
This is version 3 in my attempt to look at trends and competition across the roster and starting positions of the Broncos. I'm splitting this one into two posts - Offense and Defense - so that I can look a bit more into the competition over roster spots. As well as versions 1 and 2 there will be a fourth version out before the official depth chart appears.
so here goes version 3 Defense, which I've subtitled "The Ryan McBean Post"

Your 2009 Denver Bronco Starting Line Up v2.0
Its been nearly a month since I posted version 1 of this roster and thought it was about time for an update. There have been a couple of little tit-bits coming out of the MSM and I've changed my thinking on a few positions so there are a few changes but not wholesale changes.
The plan is to produce a roster now, after the June 12th Mandatory Mini-Camp and then directly before and during.

Your 2009 Denver Bronco Starting Line Up v1.0
By my count, the Broncos currently have 80+ players on their "roster", including all the CFA and the 09 Draft Class. Somehow this has to get down to 53 and 47 on game days. I thought it would be interesting to take a stab at putting together the roster and figuring out a basic depth chart.
The plan is to keep this chart up to date over the off season as more information becomes available as to who is on the bubble and who is sliding.
