Game 38 My Thoughts: Spurs hand Lakers 5th straight loss

Well the game went the way we all wanted it to, we got the win but still there were some things during the game that I did not particular like. We were careless with the ball. We had a total of 19 turnovers and the game where we looked to have some sort of control, seemed to almost spiral out of control in the fourth quarter.

Most of us thought that this game should of been a complete blowout. With Pau Gasol and Dwight Howard not in the lineup for the Lakers, we all had that feeling that we would dominate in the paint. During the game we did find our way into the paint and it seemed as if we were on a way to a blowout win. Low and behold the Lakers showed the fight that many were probably surprised by.

Enter Earl Clark.

This kid came off of the bench to set career highs in both points, 22 points, and rebounds, 13. Though Clark had himself a good game, Metta World Peace was an animal and early on took it to Thiago Splitter. Artest......argghhh....Peace was throwing his muscles around Splitter and made it a nightmarish night for our big man. I was yelling at my television during the game as it seemed as if Splitter was playing to soft. You may not agree with me, but I feel Splitter needs to be more aggressive down low.

In the fourth things started to get testy as more technicals were being handed out like candy on halloween. Stephen Jackson got two techs within a few minutes of each other and was tossed after he was complaining of being hit on a shot. This is what I like about Jackson. I think he felt that the game was not going their way at the time and we all know that something like this usually makes a team get that adrenaline they were losing.

With 43 seconds left in the game, Ginobili hit a three on the right side to put the Spurs up by a small margin. Kobe had a chance to tie, but his attempt was short but another chance was handed to Clark. When his shot went up I thought the game would be sent into overtime, only reason, looking at the game that Clark had, why not.

We escaped with the three point victory and handed the Lakers their 5th straight loss. It is not looking good for the purple and gold. I think Kobe's reaction after that last shot with him pulling his jersey out of his shorts pretty much sums up his frustrations with the team.

To me, if I were on the team, that is not what I would want to see from 'our leader'.

NBA 2K13 Simulation: Spurs Hand Lakers Back To Back Loss

What's up PTR! For those of you that do not know who I am, I will gladly tell you. My name is Mike and I have lived in San Antonio for 15 years. I am a die hard Spurs fan and do go to as many games as I can. I have been a member of PTR for many years and though I have not posted much, I have in the past done these simulations with the game NBA 2K. We are already well into the season and with the new year here, I will be doing my simulations once again.

What better way to kick it off then with the game commencing tonight as our San Antonio Spurs will play host to the Los Angeles Lakers. Just a note, I did not play this game as I ran it with 12 minute quarters and it is computer vs computer.

Here we go with the first installment of NBA 2K13 Simulation!

Updated rosters were used from 2K Sports. The lineup though during the game did show Dwight Howard in the starting lineup for the Lakers. The Spurs took the floor with Tony Parker, Danny Green, Kawaii Leonard, Thiago Splitter, and Tim Duncan. For the Lakers, Steve Nash, Kobe Bryant, Metta World Peace, Pau Gasol, and Dwight Howard. For those of you that have NBA 2K13, you guys know what type of game this is. I was sitting here watching this simulation and was getting pretty damn excited as it was going back and forth.

The game started off strong for the good guys. We got off to a quick 7-0 lead. Just like in real life, the virtual Lakers at the start looked pretty sluggish. D'Antoni called for a few quick time outs. He must of said something to spark the Lakers because they were making their move and quickly went on a run of their own. Kobe Bryant would come to the rescue as he has been doing for this Lakers team through the years, but as we know, nothing good has been happening lately. With a tightly contested first quarter, the Spurs would find themselves up one, 32-31. Gary Neal would turn out to be the key player for the Spurs and their bench. He checked into the game in the first nailing two of his 4 three pointers.

Dwight Howard and Pau Gasol would look to be too much for the Spurs to handle down low as they would combine for 25 rebounds and 47 points. Now mind you, I was yelling at my television while this game was going on. "Come on Splitter, box out Howard!!!!" "Come on Pop, get em out of there!"

The second quarter continued to go the way the first went. Back and forth. There were ties, lead changes. Spurs would go on a run, then the Lakers would.

At the half, the good guys were up two, 60-58.

Second half was no different than the first. The game continued to go back and forth, the Spurs bench would be the big key factor. Neal would finish with 23 points off the bench. The bench would outscore their counterparts 46-14.

The Spurs would pull with 2:00 left into the game. Tony Parker would finish the game with 30 points and 9 assists. Kobe Bryant would lead the Lakers as he would score a game high 39 in the loss.

My question for you guys. Would you want to see more of these in the future?

Latest 2K Simulation :: Sun Sets On Spurs

What's up fans of Air Alamo and Pounding the Rock. I am back with another simulation for you. This one pits the San Antonio Spurs against the Phoenix Suns in their match-up tonight on the road in hot Phoenix.

On the year we are 1-0 in doing these sims. On the year the Spurs are 2-1, Phoenix 1-2. Let's hope this brings us another 'W' to good ole San Antonio.

Steve Nash had 18 points and 10 assists against San Antonio.

The Phoenix Suns are known for their up tempo style as well as their savy point guard Steve Nash. Nash would lead his troops to a 114 to 95 win over the San Antonio Spurs in this simulation.

The Suns point guard was 8 of 17 from the floor for 18 points and also dropping 10 helpers to his teammates. Jason Richardson led the charge with 23 points and a much needed boost by Josh Childress off the bench for 22.

San Antonio started the game as they said they needed to do, strong. Though they would take a two point lead into the second the Suns offense quickly took that away. The lack of defense by San Antonio led the Suns to 36 points in the quarter and a 60 to 50 lead at the half.

Second half was much of the same as the second quarter was for Phoenix. San Antonio starters were simply on fire as four out of the five were in double figures. Manu Ginobili led the way with 24 on 7 of 16 shooting from the floor and 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. Tony Parker did his best to match his counter part Nash going for 23 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds. Tim Duncan finished with another double-double 16 points and 11 rebounds. Richard Jefferson dropped in 16 also.

What was the rough spot for the Spurs was the lack of play from their bench. The Suns, I meant, Childress outscored the Spurs bench by himself. Spurs managed to scrape up 12 points, as stated Childress, 22 all to himself. As a team the Suns got 49 points from their bench.

This team has a lot of fire power and they showed it in this game. Suns shot 42% from the floor while the Spurs managed to shoot better at 47%.

NBA 2K11 Simulation :: How'd We Fare?

For those long time readers of Air Alamo and some new to the site, we have done in the past simulation's from our gaming system to see how the virtual Spurs fare against their virtual counterparts.

The game we are using is the only game that truly be the best for this simulation, 2K Sports NBA 2K11. Normally I would love to do them for all 82 games but with finding the time to do these and my work schedule it isn't possible.

I do though will be doing them for those 'good' games for all to view and to comment, yes we would like to see comments on these types of things. Without further ado, tonights matchup is that of the season opener between our Spurs and the Indiana Pacers at the AT&T Center.

"CAN YOU FEEL IT!?!?!?! SPURS BASKTEBALL BACK YET AGAIN"

The Indiana Pacers come into the Alamo City looking to start their year off with a win. The San Antonio Spurs are looking to make their way to the NBA Finals in quest of capturing another title.

From the tip the Indiana Pacers came out strong. They shocked the sold out crowd at the AT&T Center as they opened up to a 12 point lead after one. The Spurs offense as many would find would be slow to start, and we all know how that is for our team. So the virtual Spurs are that of their real life counterparts, start off slow.

After one the Spurs were playing from behind, yet three more quarters to go and Virtual Pop must of put a licking to the guys because in the second quarter they came out, on fire.

"VIRTUAL TIMMY DOMINATED HIBBERT KNOTCHING A DOUBLE-DOUBLE"

The Spurs behind Manu Ginobili and Tim Duncan would lead to a comeback and help the Spurs drop 37 in the second. Spurs would take a two point lead into the half 55-53.

In the second half, no let down by San Antonio as they kept chipping away at the Pacers. Tyler Hansbrough whom missed all of last season did manage to keep them at bay. He would score 22 points in 33 minutes of action.

Dahntay Jones would also lend his hand in the process of a comeback as they saw their lead diminishing. Jones would come off the bench to hit for 25. Most noticable stat on the Pacers was that of Jones attempts at the free throw line, 15 out of 16. As a team they took 44 trips to the line and hit 37 of them.

For San Antonio, they have had problems at the line. This game they went 29 times and hit 23. Good sign huh? In the Virtual world hell yeah. In the real world we need this.

Spurs would dominate the rest of the way and take a 115 to 95 win over the Pacers. Indiana were paced by Danny Granger (20 points), Tyler Hansbrough (22 points) and Dahntay Jones (25 points).

San Antonio had six players reach double figures. Manu Ginobili led the way with 25 showing his mid season form with the way he twisted his way to the basket. Duncan (24 points), Parker (18 points), Jefferson (12 points), Hill (13 points), and Temple 10. DeJuan Blair getting the starting spot at the power forward finished with 5 points and 3 rebounds.

How did Tiago do? He played just four minutes.

I try to put one our once a day. Listed below are ones that have been completed and are on the site for viewing. I hooked you guys up with the link to them, just roll over their names.

Round 1, Game 6 :: Mavs at Spurs SIMULATION!

Like I stated earlier, here it is guys. The simulation to tonight's game six. My brother, Matt did those for our site, Air Alamo

With a big game 6 just a few hours away against our San Antonio Spurs and the Dallas Mavericks. What we plan on doing here at AA is bring you a simulation of game 6 using 2K Sports NBA 2K10's NBA Today feature. We plan on doing this for the rest of the Spurs playoff run, as we all know they will continue, but if for some reason they do not, we will still run them for the rest of the playoffs and just post the score and leading performers for each team.

I did not play this game as it would defeat the purpose of calling it a simulation. I sat and watched this whole game just like it was "real". I had my glass of Pepsi and a bag of sunflower seeds and was actually getting into, like bad. It was exciting!! I made sure the minutes were set at 12 and it was time to watch the game. After the jump, you will see the result of Game 6 between the Dallas Mavericks and the San Antonio Spurs.

The AT&T Center was packed for this game

The game started off slow for our beloved Spurs. The first half belonged to the Dallas Mavericks, which seems to be a pattern when they played in games 3 and 4 here. The Mavs took a big lead going into the second half leading 54-41. Tim Duncan started the scoring for us with a dish from George Hill as Duncan threw it down in front of Dampier. When the Spurs would start closing the gap, the Mavs would go on a run once again and the biggest threat would not be Dirk Nowitzki, but Jason Terry. Terry would hit 2 big three's back to back to further the distance from the Spurs.

Uhh I hope we don't see anything like this tonight

Jason Kidd would do what he does best, dishing off the rock to his teammates. Shawn Marion was treated with a few dishes from Kidd, which is the only way that Marion will and can hurt is, in the open floor. Kidd and the Mavericks would take that 13 point lead into the half.

Second half comes and what a second half speech from Pop. This was a totally different Spurs team. Ginobili was a firestarter along with Antonio Mcdyess. Ginobili would was scrapping to the paint getting fouled, hitting the bucket and getting a shot at the charity stripe. Antonio Mcdyess would grab some key rebounds and hit some big shots, just like in game 4.

The Spurs would claw and crawl back being down by as many as 17 in the second and put on one hell of a San Antonio run. The Spurs outscored the Mavericks in the second half 72 to 51 to take game 6 and move onto the second round of the playoffs. Ginobili would be named player of the game with 28 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists in the big 113-105 win. Duncan would finish with a double double in his breakout game after having two bad games since his birthday, 20 points and 14 boards. George Hill would add 18 points and Antonio McDyess would put in 20 points in 27 minutes of play. Parker came off the bench and chipped in with 8 points in 30 minutes. The Mavericks were led by Dirk Nowitzki who had a game high 33 points. Jason Terry finished with 26 points and shot 3-for-5 from three point. The rest of the starting five were held in check, but Caron Butler sparked the Mavs off the bench with 16 points in 37 minutes. The Spurs outrebounded the Mavs 36-30 and had 6 more fast break points.

With the virtual game 6 going to the Spurs, we will see if the real silver and black will come through for us tonight and send the Mavs fishing so we can get ready for the next series. I hope you guys enjoyed this new addition we will be adding here. Below is the box score for game 6.

What's up guys, did you miss me? I contacted Wayne at the beginning of the month to doing the simulations again and well things got hectic again and I couldn't start them up but now that I think I have everything under control.

Myself and my brother are working on the simulation right now and hope to get it up in the next hour or so. We are going to be posting it on our Spurs blog as well as PTR.

In the past I used to play out the games but now it is strickly CPU vs CPU. But we do have to watch the game and boy was it a rush, lol.

NBA Live 10 Gameday Poll:: Regular Season Week 5 (4 Games)

What a bad week for our beloved Spurs dropping to the EVIL EMPIRE in the Dallas Mavericks this past Wednesday and the Utah Jazz Thursday night.

Another week is upon us though and I feel we can scrape away some nice wins. After the jump the poll for the upcoming week for San Antonio Spurs basketball.

NBA Live 10 Simulation (4):: San Antonio Spurs @ Dallas Mavericks

First off, just wanted to say sorry for the lateness on this. I try to get them up the morning of game days but had to do some 'honey dos' before I could play, hehe.

Virtual Dirk lit us up for 27!

Well, I didn't think this day would come and it has and I am dreading typing this out right now. Dirk Nowitzki lit us up for 27 points and the Mavericks at one point were crushing me by 21.

Though we were down to start the fourth period, I had a lot of time to come back. The players who gave us that spark of fire were Tony Parker, Michael Finley, and Richard Jefferson. Tim Duncan was not much of a factor; he was in foul trouble all game long after picking up three in the first quarter. He didn't see much of the floor after that.

In the fourth quarter, we would score 38 points to the Mavericks 22. We came all the way back from 21 down and tied the game with just 30 seconds to go. The Mavericks came down looking for their man, Dirk Nowitzki. Even though we tried not to send him to the line by not being so aggressive on defense, we fouled once again. He nailed both his free throws to put Dallas up by two.

Richard Jefferson finished with 27.

With the final seconds running down, we turned to Richard Jefferson, who led our scorers with 27 points. He got a nice look off a screen to tie the game . . . and the ball rimmed out.

Tony Parker would finish with 20 points. Michael Finley paced the bench with 15, hitting three out of six from long range in the final period to cut the Mavericks' lead.

What's up, guys? This simulation is going to be of a game against our hated rivals, the Dallas Mavericks. As much as I loved playing this game, they sure as hell gave me a damn scare.

I have stuff to do today, so this is not going to look like previous posts I have made. I do hope you still will enjoy.

George Hill gets the start at point for San Antonio.

With Tony Parker and Tim Duncan sitting out the game due to injuries, the San Antonio Spurs still managed to hold off the Dallas Mavericks, 112 to 110. Coach Popovich restructured his line-up, and the DYNAMIC DNA in LIVE gave us as starters George Hill, Keith Bogans, Michael Finley, Richard Jefferson and Theo Ratliff.

I am not going to waste my time typing out the starters for those damn Mavericks.

The game was going the Mavericks' way in the first half. We sent them to the line a good number of times, since we got in the bonus with at least 5 minutes to go in both the first and second quarters. For the entire game, we sent them to the line 30+ times. We were getting blown for ticky-tack fouls left and right.

In the second half it would be a different story. We opened up the third quarter by going on a run and ended it the same way (16 to 5), closing the period with 36 to their 27.

In the final quarter the Mavericks really came on. Jason Kidd hit some key threes, as did Jason Terry. It wasn't enough, though, as the story of the game would be the superior play of our bench.

Gino led the bench with 18 points.

We outscored the Mavericks bench 56 to 35. Manu Ginobili finished with 18 points on 6 of 12 shooting from the floor. He also got to the line 7 times and made 6. Roger Mason played 30 minutes off the bench to score 16.

Richard Jefferson paced the starters with a team-high 20 points. Michael Finley and Antonio McDyess led the team in rebounds, grabbing 13 each. George Hill and Keith Bogans (both making their first starts of the season) each finished with 13 points.

The Mavericks had a chance to send the game into overtime, but Jason Kidd's jumper at the buzzer rimmed out (wish I had captured video of this).

NBA Live 10 Simulation: Week 3 POLL

Week three of the regular season we have three games but Monday night will be out of the question for me as I dont' get home till late and won't be able to get the game up in time.

All three games are at home this week. Monday (Toronto), Wednesday (Dallas) and Saturday (Oklahoma City).

So with that said we do have two other choices and I feel that I know which one will be the landslide.

NBA Live 10 Simulation: Regular Season : San Antonio Spurs at Portland Trail Blazers

What's up everyone! I am back with this week's winning pick for the Simulation. Last night was a tough night for us on the floor as we all painfully watched our beloved Spurs get taken down by the Jazz. No fear, we are undefeated when I am doing these sims so we SHOULD win tonight.

Just some notes before the jump. I do play these games out in full to get the most realistic stats that I can so I know it truly isn't a 'simulation' as that would mean cpu vs cpu and let it play out that way.

As I am a fan of NBA LIVE 10 I do like to play out some of the games but will in the future do the cpu vs cpu.

The starting lineups for the game:

My biggest concern going into this game was speed. Portland has that on their side. Though we have Tony Parker and his match-up with Steve Blake is to our advantage. Brandon Roy and Michael Finley. Finley wouldn't be much of a factor in this game as Manu played 27 minutes.

Another concern for me in the game was that of LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden, their twin towers. Oh, remember the days of Timmy and David..........okay sorry.

We win the tip and first thing I wanted to do was establish Duncan down low to try and get the bigs in foul trouble. Duncan would pace us in the first period hitting the teams first six buckets. This didn't come from down low. I had Duncan out by the free throw line, elbow, to be exact and nailed three straight jumpers with him from the same spot.

Later they would jump that spot and then was able to find my shooters on the perimeter. Richard Jefferson was one that caught on fire along with Duncan. I would use Jefferson's speed against Martell Webster whom is a good defender. Would take Jefferson off the dribble and nail some key jumpers as well as get Jefferson open on the wings for a pump fake and slam.

Matt Bonner would nail one of his four threes on the night.

What would be key after the first period, by the way we took a 28-22 lead after one, would be the play of our bench. Matt Bonner came off and simply shot lights out from the three point line. Hitting 4 of 5 and finishing with 12 points.

Manu Ginobili would pace the bench with 16 in 27 minutes. He went 6 for 11 from the floor and 4 of 5 from the free throw line.

DeJuan Blair would get into the act as he finished with 5 points and 5 rebounds. George Hill added 4, Roger Mason added 6 and Theo Ratliff with 8.

Starters played a lot of minutes and were led by Tony Parker who played 40. Parker finished with 16 points on 8 of 19 shooting.

Jefferson would celebrate with Manu after he finishes a play while getting fouled.

Jefferson finished with 14 points. Michael Finley added 7 but had his hands full with Brandon Roy who finished the game with 20.

Just a couple of stats from Portland. They outrebounded us 54 to 45. LaMarcus Aldridge and Greg Oden combined for 28 of them.

Final score would be the good guys 102 and the Blazers 92.

Shooting Rampage at Fort Hood, Texas

I know this is off subject here but I live in San Antonio and I know some of you live in the Austin area just thought I bring this up about the shootings that happened at Fort Hood.

A shooting rampage left 13 dead and 30 injured. The gunman is still alive in stable condition.

My Prayers goes to those families that are suffering right now because of this tragic event.

Again, sorry for the post just hit to close to home.

I know we are just headed into the first week of the season but I wanted to go ahead and get a jump start on the next weeks poll to see which game you guys want simulated.

In the second week of the season we have just two games, both of which are on the road and a back to back. We head to Utah November 5th and Portland on the 6th.

Also, if there is anything that you guys would like to see changed up in the format let me know. Poll will run until Wednesday morning.

NBA Live 10 Regular Season Simulation #1: New Orleans Hornets at San Antonio Spurs

Note: I do play the full game in these simulations so the outcome is based off of my play versus the computer.

Well, it has arrived: the regular season of the National Basketball Association. Frankly, it has been a long, long wait. I posted a poll last week to see which opening-week Spurs game you fans would like to see simulated, and it was unanimous--the NEW ORLEANS HORNETS!

NBA LIVE 10 uses Dynamic DNA to keep the game fresh, meaning the game reflects up-to-date roster changes, injuries, player tendencies (defense, shooting), and team tendencies.

Today we take on N'awlins, which will be the first of many Simulations to come during the regular season. Check it out, boys and girls.

As you may already know, a new face has joined the New Orleans Hornets, that of Emeka Okafor. So no longer will we see Chris Paul making Tyson Chandler (who is terrible) look good by just catching a lob and throwing it down.

Now does that look scare you or what!? And he is just the virtual one.

Starting the game off, I knew right away I had to jump on the Hornets fast and contain Chris Paul. Virtual Paul would be hard to guard as he is as quick as can be in the game. He ended up torching me for a good 29 points. What can I say, he took over when he needed to in the fourth period.

No fears guys, no fears. It ends well.

What I also wanted to do was establish the post with Timmy. In the game, he went up against David West. We know the battles that have come about between these two, but in this one, it was all TD. Duncan would get the first 8 for the team all in the paint.

The Hornets would quickly double down on Duncan in no time and that left the game open for Mason and the Spurs shooters on the outside. This would really hurt the Hornets.

Chris Paul, though, would keep the game close as the quarter ended with the Hornets up by a slim lead, 25-22. After playing man for the first 12 minutes, I had to change up the game on the defensive end. I switched into a 2-3 zone, and this helped me big time. With Emeka and David West down low for the Hornets, it was easy to grab offensive boards while we were in man. In the zone, TD, McDyess and the other bigs for the Spurs controlled this, and we out-rebounded the Hornets 53 to 45 in the game.

Virtual Mason has a nice stroke and dropped in 11.

Zone would lead to New Orleans taking bad shots from the outside, leaving long rebounds and fast break points for us. We would score 27 in the quarter while holding them to 16.

Richard Jefferson and DeJuan Blair played well in the half. I had some nice moves to the rim with Jefferson using his speed and got some nice shots for Blair. In this game, though, Blair has no legs (dude can barely jump in the game).

The third quarter we would come out firing, and the Hornets would see themselves down by 18 at one point. We would finish with 35 in the quarter.

Too much of the Spurs defense and bench play helped balloon the lead. Matt Bonner would come off to hit for 12. Ginobili would finish with 10, and everyone's Man Child DeJuan Blair would finish up with 13 points.

Look at Tony in the background. LOL.

Holding a comfortable lead in the fourth quarter, I got scared, 'cause as I mentioned before, Chris Paul would go nuts. He single-handedly brought his team from down by 18 to within 6. We managed to pull it off, but during their run I was shaking my head as if to say, "this has happened to us so many times in real life." It was crazy.

We knocked off the Hornets though,105 to 94.

NBA LIVE 10 Simulation: Regular Season Week 1 Poll

Okay guys we are just right around the corner from the regular season and you have all seen my last two fanposts being about the NBA LIVE 10 Simulation.

Glad to see that everyone has liked them and are wanting them to continue on through the season. I have been in talks with Wayne and they will continue but this is how it is going to be during the season.

As I would love to do for all 82 games quite frankly that won't happen. I know, I know, I am sorry. Don't hate me, lol. What Wayne has suggested was to hold one simulation for the game during a week that is the bigger game for the Spurs. I told him that was a good idea so that I won't get burnt out nor would the Simulation thing fizzle down as well.

Then I stated that I will hold a poll with the games for the week which will be from Monday thru Sunday. Of course once we hit the playoffs best believe that this will be more but right now we are doing a game a week so pick wisely on what you guys wanna see simulated.

NBA Live 10 Simulation Preseason #6: San Antonio Spurs @ Oklahoma City Thunder in Austin

What's up you crazy Spurs fans of Pounding with the Rock. I am back once again with another Simulation of the Spurs game tonight against Kevin Durant........uhhhh I mean Oklahoma City Thunder. Just wanted to say thanks for all the love I received on my first addition of this feature that I am bringing into PTR.

For those that haven't checked it out, shame on you!

Tonight the Spurs travel to good ole Austin and the Frank Erwin Center to take on the Th-Th-Th-Th-Thunder. Hoping as if the starting lineups will be that of the ones I have played with in the simulation should be a shootout tonight.

Oh and by the way, I got Blair in the game!!!!!! He did pretty damn good. Oh and I also got a nice little treat for all at the end too.

Okay enough rambling here we go.

Since we are the road team I had to play the game in OKC. With that said the damn Thunder came out on fire. Tell you what ole EA Sports loves Kevin Durant as he was flying everywhere around the floor. Jeff Green did his share as well. Russell Westbrook is a speedster, though he doesn't match up with our Tony Parker.

The game went back and forth. I found myself setting up with some pretty good sliders that helped me come out with some pretty realistic stats. The final score was 112 to 102, the good guys.

There were times when I just couldn't believe how bad I was getting punished by the Thunder. One point in the third period they went on a pretty good run and I didn't call a timeout. The next thing I knew I was down 14!

I had to call the time out then. Virtual Pop ripped into the team and I could feel it. That is pretty scary! After the timeout I felt that I was the one letting the team down, hell I am controlling them, so I took it easy and started running some set plays on offense. We got some easy buckets and ran some pick and rolls with R-Jeff, TP, TD, Blair got into the mix. On the defensive end of the ball I switched up to a 2-3 zone. This caused them to shoot deep and the bigs for us brought down the boards and we looked to run.

Roger Mason pulls up for a three! Oh how we like it!

Before I knew it, we were within one. Roger Mason came off of the bench with solid play pouring in 20. He hit a key three pointer to put us up. From that point on we were unstoppable.

The Red Rocket also got into the mix of things as he would set up to hit a key three pointer as well when times were going really good for us. I used ball movement (just like the Spurs) to find those open shooters and they made OKC pay the price.

Richard Jefferson also had some highlights. He started the game off with a baseline slam over Kevin Durant who tried to challenge.

He finished with 14 and 4.

All in all it was a good game and I had fun playing it. I found myself doing the Tiger Woods fist pump a couple times when I was making the run and pulling away.

Hope you guys enjoyed it. I have talked with Wayne through email about doing these for the season so look for a poll to come up on Friday. We discussed to have these once a week with highlighting a top game of the week and I stated to hold a poll for all to see which they would like to see simmulated.

NBA LIVE 10 Simulation: Preseason #5: Cleveland Cavaliers vs San Antonio Spurs

I am back guys, and with a new feature that I am going to be bringing to my blog. As you can tell by the picture, I am using NBA LIVE 10 from the PS3 to simulate up and coming games for the Spurs this season. With that being said, here is the outcome of the game I played earlier today for the preseason action, as the Cleveland Cavaliers take on the San Antonio Spurs tonight at the AT&T Center.

Those are the starters I set for my simulation today. Don't worry, Spurs fans, I did get DuJuan Blair in the game as well. I see the starters playing a pretty good amount of time tonight during the game, as I had most play a lot during my simulation. Here we go: The game started off pretty slow offensively for both teams. Tony Parker and Tim Duncan went to work early on with pick and rolls, and Tony getting some nice open looks for quick scores. LeBron James and company could not buy a bucket as nothing was falling for the team. The end of the first would draw to a close as both teams combined to score just 26 points. Spurs won the quarter 14-12.

Scoring picked up in the second quarter, as LeBron and Company came out firing. Mo Williams paced them in the second with numerous jump shots from the outside. LeBron found some nice lanes as he took advantage and threw down some nasty dunks.

Surely LeBron will be bringing the highlights during tonight's game, but this go-round Tony Parker would be the one with the biggest highlight of the night. Both teams scoring came up as they finished with 20 each. At the half the Spurs were up by just two points 34 to 32. The second half of the game was much more entertaining than the first. Richard Jefferson hit some key shots, as did Manu Ginobili. Tim Duncan was not much of a factor in the first half on the offensive end, but he did help grab 12 rebounds. Duncan would finish with a double double, 12 points and 21 rebounds. With a back and forth duel going in the second, the Spurs' Tony Parker would lift the team to a 78 to 76 win with a jumper with just 1.5 left. Parker would finish the game with a high of 24 points. He also had 5 assists. Here are the rest of the stats from the game:
