I left out some OL prospects b/c I doubt we'll take 8 OL prospects in this class, but I really don't know.

Some topics I thought were interesting: I talked to someone who went to the most recent camp at SC and apparently Bolden has a hell of an arm and can throw the ball extremely well. His mechanics are great and he's extremely accurate. Coxson was also very impressive, especially b/c of his size.

This is going to be a tremendous opportunity for many of these kids to step up and make a name for themselves because of the spots left open due to graduation/draft. Obvious picks are Crawford, Price, Mauti, or Lynn b/c we NEED them to have a big impact. Also don't sell the O-line guys short. I regretably had to leave out Pete Massaro b/c of his season ending injury during the B&W game.

5. Ohio State at Penn State (November 7th)
This looks like the game that will decide the Big Ten championship, barring a few unexpected results. Daryl Clark and the Nittany Lions fans will be loud at Beaver Stadium. A win for Ohio State would be only fitting after Penn State’s win last season in Columbus.

45. Penn State at Illinois (October 3rd)
Both teams are expecting good seasons this year. If Ohio State slips up this could even be for the Big ten championship and a BCS bowl.

53. Iowa at Penn State (September 26th)
If not for the loss to Iowa last season Joe Paterno would’ve been coaching in the national championship game. I have a feeling his team might be thinking about that when they take the field here.

Considering our secondary is probably the biggest causes for concern, it's good to get to know some of the guys who will be competing for the starting spots.

Lynn seems to have a good attitude and I didn't realize how big he was (6'1" 200) As a CB that bodes well against the NFL-style receivers we're seeing more and more.

I'm begining to feel a little better about this group, assuming that Hodges makes enough progress to start. He looked great at the B&W.

Adam reported QB14 indeed re-signed with the Cardinals. I know I've seen some people wondering about that. Honestly I wish him the best, and despite all the vitriol we've aimed his way I hope he makes the team.

So I propose we have a *positive* QB14 thread. Let's sing his praises for once, I'll start things off:

He never lost a bowl game as a starting QB, and helped us defeat ZOMG SEC!!!!!!!! Tennessee.

The Blue-White Spring Game is on Saturday and a talented group of prospects are set to visit Penn State. Joe Paterno will welcome some of Pennsylvania’s top prospects as well as many from out of state.

Both of the Nittany Lions’ verbal commitments, linebacker Mike Hull from Canonsburg (Pa.) Canon-McMillan and quarterback P.J. Jones from McKees Rocks (Pa.) Sto-Rox, will attend the game. Paterno is going to make every effort to hang on to Jones. Jones has not de-committed, but is looking at other schools again and attended Pitt’s Spring Game last weekend.

Defensive end/linebacker Dakota Royer from Manheim (Pa.) Central will head to Penn State on Saturday with a host of scholarship offers in his back pocket including Penn State, Notre Dame, Michigan State, Virginia, Illinois, Pitt, Maryland, Syracuse and UCLA.

Offensive lineman Luke Graham from Harrison City (Pa.) Penn-Trafford says he is not close to selecting a college, though the Penn State staff would like to convince him otherwise when he is in State College this weekend. In addition to Penn State, Graham’s offer list includes Virginia, Maryland, Illinois, Pitt, Stanford and Syracuse.

Quarterback Anthony Gonzalez from Bethlehem (Pa.) Liberty, who has close to a dozen scholarship offers including Penn State and Pitt, will be in State College this weekend. The Nittany Lions want to sign two quarterbacks this recruiting season and would love to keep Gonzalez in-state.

They also would love to keep Philadelphia (Pa.) George Washington defensive lineman Sharrif Floyd in-state. Floyd is one of the premier defensive linemen in Big Ten country and is expected to attend on Saturday.

Running back Braylon Heard and his teammate at Youngstown (Ohio) Cardinal Mooney, safety Ray Vinopal, are planning to attend. Heard has over a dozen scholarship offers including Penn State, Wisconsin, West Virginia, Maryland, Michigan State and Nebraska. Vinopal would love to land an offer from Penn State.

Three of the biggest names attending Penn State’s spring game this weekend are from out of state.

Wide receiver Adrian Coxson from Baltimore (Md.) City College has offers from Penn State, Pitt, Florida, West Virginia, Boston College and others. The Nittany Lions have as good a shot as anyone at landing Coxson, and could arguably be called the front runner for his services.

Running back Silas Redd from Stamford (Conn.) King has Penn State at the top of his list, though he is also considering scholarship offers from Boston College, Virginia, Stanford, Rutgers, Connecticut and a few others. Redd has not ruled out the possibility of committing to Penn State this weekend.

Linebacker Khairi Fortt from Stamford (Conn.) Stamford attended Notre Dame’s Spring Game last weekend and is expected to attend the Blue-White Game this weekend. Fortt has scholarship offers from both as well as many others including Ohio State, North Carolina and Boston College.

Thought I would quote it since it's an ESPN affiliate and they don't deserve the extra hits.

I enjoy getting a sense of what penn state fans expect or want when hiring a new coach becomes reality. The last poll revealed people are pretty much split on Bradley or LJ Sr. as the next HC. Here's something more broad.

Personally, I feel history is not kind to teams that choose a loyal assistant to follow a legendary HC. Although I am a huge LJ Sr. fan, so I feel like he could be the exception to the rule.
