Seth Davis did a survey of two coaches each from each power conference.

Their thoughts on Missouri was pretty off in my opinion:

"Missouri: The Missouri Tigers play down to their competition, which can lead to an early-round upset. They also have very little inside presence and rely on outside shooting, and those teams tend to get beat in the tournament. Phil "Flip" Pressey is their main guy, there's no question. He's a terror on defense and he controls the game. Marcus Denmon and Kim English are good, but they're catch and shoot guys. You have to force Ricardo Ratliffe to make shots. You can't let him just get a ton of offensive putbacks. They don't throw him the ball much, so he scores a lot off his board play. They'll have trouble guarding a physical post team because they're undersized. Remember, they only have seven guys. When you play two games in three days in the tournament, that can be a challenge."

It's the first big game of the year. Let's get a roll call. How many people are going to be at the game tonight? 

I know it's a long trip so I don't expect a huge number of RMNers there at Sun Devil Stadium. 

The temps should actually be down for Phoenix/Tempe tonight. We might even be under triple digits. 

For those of you who couldn't make it, what's your plan for the late night (for midwesterners and east coasters) game?

Everyone must be busy at their jobs so.... I'll just make my OWN open thread, k?

Who's going to the game today? Who wants to meet up before the game?

There's a burger place near ASU's campus called the Chuck Wagon that's pretty easy to find and is a short walk to Sun Devil Stadium. We can try that OR a ton of other places I can think of. They usually have a set up for ASU home games and bowl games and such so it should be easy to find people.

I'm going to advance the league on Sunday to the start of Season 2. So if you have requests for your schedule, send them to me in Live and I will make sure they get added.

I think pretty much everyone had good recruiting hauls. Looks like Season 2 will be even better than Season one.

For the people who are new, once the season starts we'll be advancing the league on Wednesdays and Sundays around 11 p.m. EST

If there are any requests to adjust the advancing schedule let me know. We can go faster or slower if there's a majority one way or the other.

I know we're completely consumed with our Tigers play right now but don't forget the Rock M Dynasty offseason either.

I advanced us to the second week of recruiting this morning and will advance us to week 3 on Wednesday night. We'll go to week four on Friday night and week 5 on Sunday. 

That should take us to mop up duty by next Wednesday and onto setting up Season 2. 

If you're currently not in the online dynasty and want to be, you can join up at anytime. We're playing in the ACC so please chose a team from that (readjusted) conference. Lots of good teams (and bad ones) still available such as Virginia Tech, Minnesota and North Carolina. 

It would be ideal for you to jump in now before Season 2 starts so get on it.

If anyone has issues with the offseason schedule for this week or has any questions at all about the dynasty, please let me know.

I finally picked up the 360 last night so I'm ready to advance the league into the offseason. Except CopperPlaytypus/Solidpit hasn't played his bowl game against Boise State. I'd like to know everyone played their bowl game but Solidpit, if you're ok with me advancing, please respond in here ok?

Other than that, I'll just say the new 360s are quiet. Real quiet. It's almost creepy compared to the aircraft engine that was my last one.

In a shocking upset, the Tennessee Vols defeated the undefeated TCU Horned Frogs in the ACC championship.

I think every player in the dynasty made it to a bowl game. Good work everyone!

As we move into the offseason, I can keep the same update schedule, or I can quicken the pace. It's up to everyone else really.

Please let me know in comments how you want things to continue when it comes to updating the league.

I'm waiting to advance the league due to two pvp games. 

Other than that, I'm excited that I'm back to .500 and I think I can still make a bowl game and finish out on a four game winning streak. Recruiting is going well for me. I notice Tennessee is our best recruiter out of players so far.

The two top teams at this point are Tennessee and TCU. Iowa is also very high up as well. Actually everyone but me is doing pretty well :)  That's ok. I'm just now starting to feel comfortable with Tech's offense so I'm feeling confident I'll get better as my talent and experience increases.

As we get near to the end of season 1, I'd like to think we're doing pretty well outside of a few slower updates on my part. For that I apologize. Things will get a little hectic starting Sept. 24 since I'll be in the process of moving. If we're dead set on keeping the schedule, I might temporarily assign someone the commission reigns to keep everything moving.

I have a feeling we'll have more people filling in the less populated division for season 2. We had people who were interested in Virginia Tech and Miami prior to the start of the dynasty. Minnesota was taken for but the user has since stopped playing so that is also available for someone who wants a challenge.

I haven't advanced the dynasty yet cause I really want to make sure Copper and ZouDave have a chance to play their game. At this point TCU vs Iowa easily looks like the best game all year. Two undefeated teams that have just throttled their opponents. 

Once these two play their game, I'll advance the week and we'll move on. And speaking of moving on, holy crap I'm horrible with Georgia Tech. I feel like Paul Johnson is going to show up at my doorstep and punch me in the throat for making his offensive scheme look so horrible. 

At least my recruiting is going well.  How does everyone feel about the season so far?

Normally I'd advance the week already but there's one big conference match up we're still waiting for.

Welcome to the Rock M Dynasty, Week 1.

We currently have 6 members in the dynasty. Starting Friday morning, I'm advancing us out of the offseason and into the start of the regular season. That should give everyone plenty of time to get in the league and get their stuff set up.

I know we're all A's focused right now. I just thought we might have a high diversity of interest in college football teams which would lend nicely to an online dynasty/league. Plus it would be cool to play with other AN members.

I'm a Mizzou fan so I very well may start up an Online Dynasty for Rock M Nation too. The prob there is well... we're all Mizzou fans so we'll either all clone the tigers and replace other Big 12 teams with them or just have everyone NOT pick them. 

We won't run into that problem as much here (outside of maybe more than normal wanting to play as Cal or Stanford)

If there's enough interest, I'll start one up. Otherwise, no harm, no foul.
