Manny Parra, welcome to the Show.

Sounds like Sheeter will only miss 2, possibly 3 starts - but either way this makes the 3.5 game lead over the Cubbies even more tenuous.

From all reports, Balfour has been dealing down in AAA - wasn't this guy a big-time prospect once? Although now at 29, this might be his make-or-break stint.

Thank goodness for the Brewers deep farm system - hopefully Parra can step in and provide some quality bullpen innings.

Parra with a perfect game tonight at Round Rock. Struck out 11, and was hitting 94 on the gun.

Pretty sure this guy has reclaimed his prospect status. Some on brewerfan.net who have seen him pitch in AA Huntsville said at times he is up to 95 and 96.

Either way, congrats to Parra on a great night, and it's about ime for Doug Melvin to think about incorporating this stud into his bullpen, and stay away from the likes of Ray King, et al, at the trade deadline.

With the injury to Cappy and Villanueva being left in the rotation, it will be interesting to see which of Yo, Vargas and Bush will end up being the "odd man out" and headed to the bullpen to stay once Capuano returns.

Or maybe Villanueva heads back to his super-utility pitching role. Personally I would love to see Villa remain in the rotation, and let Yo learn his wares in the pen.

Matt Torra - where is he?

I know that John was pretty high on this guy in the AZ farm system this spring - he had him rated #6 in that loaded orgainzation. Was researching a bit and haven't seen any stats for him, which I found odd. Anyone know if he is in Extended ST or is hurt? Thanks in advance...

I seemt o always get Garza and Torra mixed-up, although with Garza's year I'm not sure if I'll be doing that anymore...

I absolutely HATE hearing stories like this, especially with someone so young and so full of potential. It makes me appreciate guys like Pujols and Tex who don't say booo and go about their business.

I wonder if the media isn't blowing this up though? When guys like Conine chime in though, you know it's gotta be a decent-sized story...

Been searching for some updates on him for quite some time, can't seem to grasp anything concrete. Is this ankle injury very serious? Is he shut down?

I ask because I see Matt Murton going nuts in Chicago right now (albeit a VERY small sample size) and was wondering if he was still in their plans this year?

I may be answering my own question however, because I keep forgetting Dusty doesn't like to play rookies - especially ones with upside. :)

What more does this guy have to do (offensively) in AAA (.340/.474/.747)??? While it's true his defense lacks, one would think that he could spot start for LoDuca or Encarnacion from time to time.

For a team ranked 26th in HR's and 22nd in runs scored, I'm just confused with the Florida brass right now.

I know we've discussed before, but what are your thoughts on why he hasn't received the call yet?

At #5, these are the names that have been thrown around in the last week or so:

C. Maybin, R. Braun (assuming Zim and Gordon are gone) and J. Clement.

It looks as if the college pitchers requests might scare away the Brewers brass. But should it?

In my opinion, pitching is where the Brewers might want to focus. Seems like Pelfrey and Hochevar are the consensus top two.

The Brewers will be competitive next year, and should they draft for the next three-four years or do they go the HS route and take Maybin if available? Big questions...Thoughts?
