&lt;p&gt;Although a no-hitter would be nice. I didn't know about the Corn King Curse until the radio broadcast on Sunday.&lt;/p&gt;

&lt;p&gt;Corn King was some sponsor at the Mets' origin who promised to give 50,000 Corn King cards (whatever those are) to any Mets pitcher who threw a no-no. Supposedly this arrogance has cursed them ever since.&lt;/p&gt;&lt;/div&gt;
