Ranking the -63kg Grand Prix Fighters
*I originally put this on HKL and decided to post it here, too, to give some insight into the 63kg GP for those who may be interested in it and do not know much about the fighters.*
With this weekend's K-1 -63kg Tournament, I thought it would be appropriate to rank the fighters in terms of their chances of winning the tournament. Tetsuya Yamato entered the tournament last year as a relative unknown and powered his way through the tournament, concluding with an all-action final against Yuta Kubo in one of 2010's FOTY candidates. This year's field is comprised of eight of the very best Lightweights in Japan, all of whom have the legitimate ability to take this year's throne. Who are this year's favorites? Who are this year's dark horses? Who will reign supreme? We'll find out on June 25th, but for now, here's my speculation as to who's who in the -63kg division.

From Krush First Generation King's Tournament, 12/12/10. Opening round bout of the -55kg Tournament between Shootboxing -55kg Champion Ryuya Kusakabe and RISE -55kg Champion Nobuchiko Terado. Great fight that I recommend to anyone, especially round 1. Fight starts at around 5:45.
For those unaware, Kusakabe is 18 and a quickly rising star in the -55kg division.
Rumor: Evans vs Jackson to headline at UFC 100
MMABay can EXCLUSIVELY reveal that fans will have to wait until July 4th to see the much anticipated fight between newly crowned light heavyweight champion, Rashad Evans and former champion, Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.
MMABay has learned today from a source close to the situation that Jackson will receive the first shot at Evans and that the UFC have already pencilled the pair in to headline the celebrations on the UFC 100 card.

I'm not surprised at all by this. July 4th weekend + two of the UFC's biggest fighters = big PPV numbers.
