BREAKING NEWS: Edwards to NY by Draft Day.
| Report: Braylon Edwards Going To Giants By Draft |
| 14th April, 2009 - 3:02 pm |

Significance to the Raiders? I really hoped the Raiders tried to make a push for this WR. Drops a lot of passes but I really think he's worth it for a 2nd or 3rd rounder. Still young, so there's a lot of room for improvement. |

Since nobody else wants to do it, I'll do it.
Raider fans are split between Orakpo, Crabtree, and Raji. BREAKING NEWS: Raji's drug test results proven to be false. (ESPN)
But, all the mock drafts i've seen on the web have us taking JEREMY MACLIN. Seems weird that nobody talks about what he brings to the Raiders as much as the other prospects.
Do we need a true "possession receiver"? Yes. Do we already have a load of fast receivers? Yes. Is another speedy receiver an downgrade? Not quite.
Yes, Maclin ran a 4.6 in the combine, but that's not his true speed. Maclin for a damn fact is the fastest prospect in this draft that can actually impact a team ala Chris Johnson (Titans). Not just some speedy guy who all can do is return kicks (Devin Hester). Well, Raider fans, he can return kicks (Hester), as fast as anybody else (Chris Johnson), and has above average hands. Just not as much as Crabtree.
I know Maclin may be the last resolution for the Raiders at this point. But, if J.Smith, Curry, Orakpo, Raji, Crabtree, Monroe are all off the board which is very likely. What do we do? The Eagles are interested in Ocho Cinco at this point and trading up with the Raiders is out of the question. Especially when Crabtree is off the board.
Now for more Maclin scout reports. Maclin's cuts are SCARY fast and is reliable with the deep passes Russell will almost always throw. He has no attitude problems whatsoever, never been in the public eye on the negative side. From what I've heard, Maclin is a great team player, never demands the ball, only when needed. So we wouldn't have to worry about the characteristics from such NFL players (T.O., Ocho Cinco, Randy "Wide Open" Moss)
Another thing that seperates Maclin from Crabtree is his rare injuries. Only injury I remember from Maclin is his first game when he had an ankle injury. But managed to play the next game and throw a touchdown to Chase Daniel. Yes, Maclin can throw also, haha.
Maclin Iv'e heard also scored VERY high on his wonderlic test. If Michael Crabtree's ceiling is Larry Fitzgerald. Then Maclin's ceiling is Steve Smith, no pun intended.
I'm saying, Maclin is a great 7th place prize without a doubt.

Something Other Than The Offseason. What is YOUR All-AFC West Defense?
Basically, choose your squad from the AFC West. Without further speculation, Here's mine.
SS- Bernard Pollard
FS- Brian Dawkins
CB1- Nnamndi Asomugha
CB2- Champ Bailey
CB3- Antonio Cromartie
MLB- Kirk Morrison
OLB- Shawn Merriman
ILB- Stephen Cooper
DT- Jamal Williams
DE- Tamba Hali
DE- Luis Castillo
I was totally torn in between Cromartie and Bailey so I decided to put in three cornerbacks. Castillo and Hali are BEASTS. Merriman, Morrison, Cooper combination is KILLER. I DARE you to throw the ball to your receivers, DARE.
What's Your ALL-AFC West Defense?

Is our Offensive Line good enough to pass on Smith or Monroe if need be?
If Crabtree is on the board at 7, we take him REGUARDLESS. BUT, if he IS taken before us, that leaves us with either Jason Smith, Eugene Monroe, or Andre Smith. Other possible options include BJ. Raji and Brian Orakpo. But i'm here about the hypothetical chance of passing on the 3 talented linemen on the board.
Detroit, if you are reading this, help US out as we helped you acquire such a talented reciever in Calvin Johnson. Now all you guys have to do is draft Matthew Stafford. (If they pass on Stafford, Jason Smith will be the pick)
If the Lions do not draft Stafford, Michael Crabtree will not slip to us. Reason why is the St. Louis Rams. I see the Rams big board like this.
1. Jason Smith
2. Michael Crabtree
We have talent on the O-Line with the addition of Khalif, Erik, and Samson. All were starters on their previous teams, so I guess that helps a little bit? Even though, we now know that the O-Line was the main focus of this offseason. That's a good enough sign to ensure the fans that the Raiders are focusing on improving the O-Line signifacantly.
That said, are we confident that our new additions plus last seasons linemen will provide enough protection for Russell and block off defenders trying to pursue our tri-acular running backs.
In my opinion, we pass on Monroe and Andre Smith, but take Jason Smith. If Jason or Michael are off the board, we take Raji or Orakpo in that order.
1. Curry
2. Crabtree
3. J. Smith
4. Raji
5. Orakpo

07-08 GSW Look-Alikes
Ok, since the spending spree we had earlier this off season, the rest of the off season was pretty darn dull and unexciting. Maybe it's because we had one transaction after another in the length of roughly about a months time period. So i'm here to TRY to add some "oohs" and "ahhs" here at the GSoM site. Yes, Yes, we all know Al Harrington looks like a TMNT and that Marco Bellinelli has the looks of El Sylvester Styllone. BUT how about any others? I only have two.. but they are pretty right on the bullseye. Here are the two GSW Imposters.
P.S. Feel free to comment about any other Warrior look-alikes you've encountered with. haha!
Ladies And Gentleman, may I present to you the 06-07 Most Improved Player of the Year... MONTA "Lupe Fiasco" ELLIS! (ain't it odd that the Warriors.com highlight reel about Ellis had the instrumental "Superstar" by Lupe Fiasco..)

Last but certainly not the least... Azubuike's competition for the most DEFINED WARRIOR is none other than........ COREY "Ne-Yo" MAGGETTE!

To all Knick fans.
Dubs fan here. Just saw on ESPN, and i saw an update that said Baron Davis is reportedly interested in joining your New York Knicks. So I was just wondering if we had signed him and traded him to your team.. who would it be for?
Here's my possible trade:
Baron Davis, Al Harrington, Stephen Jackson and the TPE for
#6 Pick, Stephon Marbury, Wilson Chandler
Knicks would have Baron, Crawford, Jackson, Randolph, Harrington, Curry

Jazz/Warriors
Okay, I got a lot of heat with my other proposed trade so I decided to make a little more realistic trade. How About..
Sign And Trade: M. Pietrus
Trade:Al Harrington
Trade: Marco Belinelli
14th Pick
TO: Jazz
Sign And Trade: Paul Millsap
Trade: Ronnie Brewer
Trade: Morris Almond
23rd Pick
Marco Belinelli and Morris Almond to me are almost the same players; it's Almond's defense that separates him from Belinelli. Brewer Gives us a much taller defensive presence when Monta Ellis is on the bench. Paul Millsap gives us the inside prescence that we desperately desire and the rebounding that has torn us up in the past years. With the 23rd pick I say, if any of the two collegiate champions (Mario Chalmers or Brandon Rush) are on the board, take em'. I'd go with Rush to back up Jax at the small forward spot. Then draft Ty Lawson (if we take Rush) or draft Bill Walker (if we take Chalmers). Then, possibly sign DeSegana Diop to beefen up our center position, and sign Stromile Swift to Add some depth at the 4 spot.
Warriors:
PG: Baron Davis, (Mario Chalmers), [Ty Lawson], CJ Watson
SG: Monta Ellis, Morris Almond, Kelenna Azubuike
SF: Stephen Jackson, Ronnie Brewer, [Brandon Rush], [Bill Walker]
PF: Brandan Wright, Paul Millsap, Stromile Swift
C: Andris Biedrins, Patrick O'Bryant, Kosta Perovic
Im clueless when it comes to salaries, so somebody please tell me if this works out.

Unite Baron With His Twin Rick Ross?
I think this idea might really work for both teams. With the champion Spurs practically the oldest team and the rest of the west getting younger, I believe we're in the middle.. with Baron,Jack, And Al trying to win a championship in the imminent future and with our young guns who are still trying to develop and find their true NBA skills. I just don't think the team is on the same page. Straight Up, Trade Al Harrington, Baron Davis (sign and trade), AND Jax to MIA for their 1st round draft pick (projected 1 overall), Udonis Haslem, Daequan Cook, And Dorrell Wright. Hear me out on this one. Dwayne Wade gets more than he bargained for with thhree potential All-Stars (in the Eastern Conference) And they are in CHAMPIONSHIP MODE. seemed to work with Boston this year. Also with Key free agents on the market this particular year, who wouldn't want to join a team with Baron, Jax, Wade, Al, AND MARION !? For our Dubs. We compete with the best of the best in the future. Question is.. Who do we draft with the #1 Overall Selection in The 2008 NBA Draft?
Miami:
Head Coach: Erik Spoelstra
PG: Baron Davis, Jason Williams, Marcus Banks
SG: Dwayne Wade, Ricky Davis, Blake Ahearn
SF: Stephen Jackson, Kasib Powell, Alexander Johnson
PF: Shawn Marion, All Harrington, Stephane Lasme
C: Mark Blount, Alonzo Mourning, Earl Barron
Golden State:
Head Coach: Keith Smart (Can't imagine Nellie running this roster)
PG: Derrick Rose(1st pick), Chris Duhon, CJ Watson
SG: Monta Ellis, Marco Bellinelli, Daequan Cook
SF: Donte Greene(14th pick), James Jones(FA), Kelenna Azubuike
PF:Brandan Wright, DeVon Hardin(44th pick), Udonis Haslem
C: Andris Biedrins, DeSagana Diop(FA), Patrick O'Bryant

Yahoo! - Braylon Edwards is expected to be traded to the New York Giants by the Cleveland Browns before the NFL draft on April 25-26, according to a pair of sources with knowledge of the negotiations.
