Giants fans section in Dodger Stadium?
Looking to go to the game this saturday in LA, but want to sit with some Giants fans. Does anyone know where a large concentration of Giants fans will be? I don't want to get beer thrown on me and stuff...
Also is it still something to worry about getting killed wearing Giants gear there? I've only been there once because I had free tickets to see Dodgers Astros or something... (Cheered for the Astros of course)
What can we do as fans?
I don't think I've ever felt this frustrated as a fan in my entire life. Honestly, the Giants front office is ridiculous. Every time I see Sanchez, Cain, Zito, or Timmy walk off the mound after giving up 2 runs but still in line for the loss, I want to throw my monitor out the window. Postseason baseball is where great pitching really comes into play with 3-man rotations, and the Giants would probably be unstoppable if they had any sort of formidable offense. The thing is they don't. Then I read articles like this in the SFGate...
"Well, we didn't get a run today, so I can't say the lineup change worked," said Bochy, who is planning to stick with Torres as the leadoff man. "We're just going through a tough stretch right now.
"These are the times that test you."
Are you !@#$ing kidding me. A tough stretch? Where do you see hope in this offense? It's full of #7 hitters. No combination of our players will ever amount to anything. I don't care if DeRosa comes back, I don't care if Sanchez returns to form, this team is ridiculous.
I need help. I can't watch this team and devote this much time to a front office that refuses to field an offense capable of seeing 3 pitches an AB. Being a Giants fan, I devoutly follow the team and watch almost every game, or box score/gamecast. I seriously want to cancel my MLB.tv subscription and never buy another Giants game ticket ever again. But I can't.
Somebody please tell me the future is brighter, because after hitting .144 over the last 5 losses, I want to pull my hair out. I don't know how much longer I can see Rowand retired on 2 pitches or Molina only get to first on a ground rule double. There's no good free agents out there either. If Dye or Burrell are added, we will still suck. Nothing makes me optimistic right now, which is sad for a team with 4 Cy Young candidates.

Chances of Horacio Ramirez competing for the 5th spot?
Besides "considering he sucks, no chance," what do you guy think about Ramirez winning the 5th spot? I don't think we should rush Bumgarner, and this would be a great stopgap for the Giants.
I know the signings of Ramirez and Mota are less than stellar, but i think they will be valuable players in our system next year. Trust me, I would much rather have Bedard as well... but gotta work with what we got.
2010 Offseason/Trade Deadline
As we all know, there are going to be some big names in the 2010 offseason. I think if the Warriors front office shows their committment to winning, that along with our extraordinary fan base will be enough to win over the top free agents. What we have to do first is trade for an expiring big name player so that we have the ability to add a couple of names.
We would start off this year before the deadline by trading Maggette and Raja Bell for Lebron James. Maggette's recent tear has been given some national exposure, and it's no secret that the Cavs are interested in him. They're going to lose Lebron next offseason anyway, and this would be the best way to at least get something for him.
After that we can trade Radmanovic and Beidrins to the Raptors for Chris Bosh. Toronto would be all over this because they have a very european team with Calderon, Bellinelli, Bargnani and Turkoglu, and Beidrins and Radmanovic would fit right in. The Warriors would be losing their faithful center, but gaining a great player in Bosh.
Finally the Timberwolves have been shopping Al Jefferson around, and I think the Warriors should trade for him. They can package something like Claxton, George, and Azibuike for him. This would give the T'wolves expirings, and the Warriors would get a solid center.
Our lineup would look like this:
Curry
Ellis
LeBron James (Yeah, I know, WOW!)
Bosh
Jefferson
Bench:
Turiaf
Watson
Morrow
Randolph
Wright
We should also figure out a way to get Steve Nash to mentor Stephen Curry and pass the torch on to him, but I haven't figured out how to do that.
Any suggestions? I think this is our best shot at winning it all!
EDIT: It's been brought to my attention that Steph Curry and Lebron James are good friends, and they exchange text messages all the time. Drafting Steph could've been the key to getting Lebron NEXT YEAR!! Warriors front office must of known something was up.
Deplete the farm system please, and bring me...
Pat Burrell and Dan Uggla. I'm convinced that trading for Pat Burrell could probably be the best off season move the Giants could make. He's a 33 year old LF who has been known to hit for power, and had a slightly down year last year. Yes the Giants could have signed him last year if they wanted to, and the signed Renteria instead, but now with the departure of Randy Winn, the Giants are power starved.
He's a career .254/.363/.475 but his last two seasons in the NL posted OBPs of .367 and .400 with 33 and 30 HRs respectively. I'm thinking he could come relatively cheap considering there isn't a huge market for him and the Rays are looking to unload him. He would be well worth the 1 year risk, far better than giving DeRosa a 3 year deal. His fielding is not gold glove caliber with a -25.1 and -7.1 UZR/150 in his last two seasons with the Phillies (he served primarily as the DH last year), but he satisfies the much starved DINGERZ gland.
I'm thinking a package of Lewis and a lower prospect could do it, while Uggla could be a little more taxing.
Manditory Rosterbation:
3B Sanchez
1B Sandoval
2B Uggla
LF Burrell
C Posey
RF Schierholtz
CF Rowand
SS Renteria
2010 Free Agent Class...
With our inability to score more than 3 runs off our former ace Kevin Correia, I can't help but google the 2010 free agent class. Taking into consideration that Sabean only signs players 34+, who would you like too see the Giants field in 2010? A lineup like this wouldn't look that bad...
LF Crawford
1B N. Johnson
3B Sandoval
RF Guerrero
CF Rowand
C Molina/Posey
2B Sanchez
SS Renteria
What we'll probably end up fielding...
SS Renteria
2B Sanchez
3B Sandoval
LF G. Anderson
RF Dye
1B Garko
CF Rowand
C Molina
Noteable free-agents:
Abreu, Guerrero, Matsui, Andruw Jones, Posednik, Ankiel, Baldelli, Mike Cameron, Holliday, Manny, Crawford, Bay, Beltre, Glaus, Uribe, Wilson, Cabrera, Hudson, LaRoche, N. Johnson, Blalock, Varitek, I. Rodriguez, Molina...
Maybe Sabean will trade away Bumgarner/Posey for Gary Sheffield...
