Keen to talk about anything basketball-related. Let's get my biases out of the way: I'm a big Portland Trail Blazers fan. I've seen them through thick and thin... very thin. Now things are on the up and we're all rejoicing.
I hail from Australia, so I love to talk about the NBL and the Boomers. The Sydney Kings WERE my team, until they were given a hasty burial by a terrible owner.
World basketball is also an interest of mine -- so I'm always happy to talk about any of the FIBA tournaments.

Follow Patty Mills on twitter
Our main man Patty Mills is now on twitter -- with a new account (I think he may have lost his old password!). Follow him... if you do the whole tweeting thing.
Patty Mills talks to juvenile detainees in his Australian Boomers preparations (video)
As Patty Mills prepares to take on Argentina in Australia's friendly warm-up series, preparing for the World Championships, he and Nathan Jawai (Minnesota Timberwolves) and Ater Majok (UConn) went to a juvenile detention centre to give the kids some inspiration -- video including interviews.
Further confirmation that Bleacher Report is a joke
This article, suggesting that the Blazers drop the relatively small contract of Greg Oden is further proof of how much of a joke that Bleacher Report site is.
What is worse: it is a listed source of "NEWS" on Google News. Incredibly frustrating to see stupid headlines like the one on this link, when you're searching for actual news. It is incredibly full of holes. If you agree, drop a comment on the article...

Buck Williams in 1987 Nike Air Force 2 Commercial
This is a pretty cool old school ad. Why? Two reasons: it focuses on players that work hard rather than flashy dunks and secondly (and most importantly) it features Buck Williams!

Looking from the outside: Who is the true Nuggets MVP?
A mixture of observation and statistical analysis suggests that Melo should not be an MVP candidate at all. What say you?
Brandon Roy's air goes into your Nike Air shoes
No, really. The air from B-Roy's respiratory system gets pumped directly into your Nike Air shoes -- that's what makes them so expensive. That, and Maria Sharapova's...

Nicolas Batum: shooting the lights out through history
Nicolas Batum's shooting percentages across the board in this short season are at historic levels. Sure, he is unlikely to maintain it, but this article takes a look at the company he would be in should he continue like this.

"Thabeet Don't Stop"
This is the inspirational and completely untrue story of Hasheem Thabeet's turbulent rookie reason with the Memphis Grizzlies of the National Basketball Association (NBA). Any similarity to persons living or dead is highly unlikely, but the per 36 minutes stats are real.

I know that there are numerous different points of view out there on the Diener signing, but I had to vent mine.
Awesome 1980 Feature on Bill Walton (NBA on CBS)
A great feature with Bill Walton, which addresses a wide-range of issues. The feature, from NBA on CBS is in three parts and features a 1980 interview with Hot Rod Hundley, before going onto a Walton 1986 interview by Bill Russell and then Walton's 1993 Hall of Fame enshrinement.
The pic I used for this article, though I'm sure there are better out there!
Bogut close to passing Aussie NBA milestones
Andrew Bogut is very close to passing quite a few of Luc Longley's "records" in terms of scoring and rebounding in the ranks of Australians that have played in the NBA.
Toni Kukoc dunking from the free-throw line (1991)
This was during a Sarajevo All-Star game back as he was about to join the Bulls. Check out the Jordan homages.

New Patty Mills Video Interview
UPDATE: it appears the D-League has taken down the video due to its poor quality visuals. I'll replace it as soon as it's up, unless someone else does.
Patty Mills is interviewed about his return to the Idaho Stampede, his potential return to the Blazers and about the Australian Boomers.
Jerryd Bayless and that missed free throw
This is what really happened in that exchange between Bayless, Roy and Miller during the Memphis game.

Patty Mills Blazers debut - 360° review
Ok. It was only 5 minutes of action, but there are a whole stack of basketball fans in Australia obsessing over Patty's arrival in the NBA... clearly the writer of this recap is one of them ;)
Lots of photos, words and video. In fact, it'll probably take you longer to look it than Mills was on the court.
NBA - Where Patty Mills' first pro assist Happens
Patty Mills blows up in the D-League
38 points, 12 assists, 7/10 from deep, 3 steals after returning from injury in debut with the Idaho Stampede.
I've tried to bring as many things together as possible in one post here. Look out, Patrick Mills has a big future and we have to be thankful that it's with the Blazers.
