4-3 over 3-4

I am a fan of the 3-4 defense, but I don’t believe it is the right fit for us. Now I know we have been over this quite a bit over the past several weeks, but what the hell, lets fire it up again. I still don’t see Dorsey as a DE in the three four. I see him as an Albert Haynesworth type player ( minus some girth) that is going to be very disruptive in a 4-3. The key to a solid 4-3 is solidity at the Line and Linebacker position. This is where we need some help. I say get a stand out DE and two solid LB’s in free agency. They don’t have to be great just solid, consistent, and reliable. Just these three additions will make our secondary that much better, maybe one of the best in the league. Each and every position would feed off of the other. The 4-3 can be just as effective as the 3-4, just look at the Titans in ‘08. I don’t even think they had a superstar on defense, Just that they had a solid group of guys that worked together and made each other that much better. I think we are close to this with the 4-3.

Total hearsay , but

a guy I work with, an Arizona fan, said that last night on ESPN or NFL net., he can’t remember which, it said that the Chiefs were in negotiations with Haley. This was not reported, but on the ticker at the bottom of the screen. Please tel me if any of this is accurate.

I think maybe it cold be an interview rather than a negotiation. A negotiation would have been blasted al over the news.

How about this scenario?

Pioli keeps Herm for the rest of his contract... then hires his father-in-law Bill Parcells as Head Coach next season.  Parcells, who in my opinion is not done with coaching yet, would be exactly what we need.  The downside...  we would be stuck with Herm for another disappointing season.  I know, that's a pretty big downside, but think of the good things that could come of this:   young QB development, a coach with an uderstanding of offense and defense, discipline, and well pretty much everything we want in a Head Coach that we don't have now.  Hell , think of how much more exciting the press confrences would be.

This is just something that popped in my head today, and I wanted to throw it out there for discussion.  I have been visiting this site for over a year now, but this is my first post... so please be kind.
