Living up to my end of the "How many Brewer fans does it take to screw in a lightbulb?" joke.

Answer? Three. One to do it and two to talk about how good Robin Yount was.

On Scooter, Law and Melvin

Earlier this afternoon Rob Neyer posted this little dandy over at FoxSports.com which includes a recount of statements by Doug Melvin taking umbrage with a certain unnamed prospect guru who, Melvin...

Behind the Paywall - Q&A with Del Crandall

+

If you've got some views left (or know how to get more, wink wink) this interview that Dave Heller posted with former Braves catcher/Brewers manager Del Crandall is really fantastic. Great insights about Hank Aaron, Robin Yount, and what it was like to play in Milwaukee in the 50s (sounds a little bit like what it's like to play here now, but I am biased as being part of the fan base he praises).

Packers Contract Status

I linked to this in a comment, but since we're bandying about salaries and cap status, Rotoworld has this breakdown of every current Packers contract with year-by-year status. I don't know precisely how often it's updated, but each current contract seems represented through January 18th of this year.

Note new Brewers owner Louis Perini in the lower-right corner--he was also the new Boston Braves owner, and would later bring his Braves to Milwaukee, effectively ending the Borchert Field era. History is fun!

Some things never change...

I stumbled across this edition of The Milwaukee Journal from May 26, 1943 that contains a small about an exhibition baseball game. When you think about it, the Coast Guard was just doing their job...
