What does our Salary Cap situation look like?
I know the new CBA has just been passed, but with those new parameters in place...
How much cap space do we have left? There used to be a handy website that kept it tabulated, but I am not sure if it is still active.
...I am not really concerned with signing free agents, but how expensive is Cullen Jenkins going to be to resign? It doesn't look like Neal will be fully healthy at the start of the season.
This may be blasphemy, but acquire David Wright?
VIA MLBTRADERUMORS (http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2011/04/east-notes-wright-salty-bixler-a-rod.html)
"Mets third baseman David Wright's days in New York may be winding down, writes Adam Rubin of ESPNNewYork.com. The Mets, who may be in full-on rebuild mode as soon as midseason, could opt to trade Wright because he is signed to team-favorable terms through 2013 and would therefore yield a better haul in a trade than Jose Reyes, Carlos Beltran or Francisco Rodriguez, writes Rubin. That the Mets could entertain this is indicative of how far they've fallen the past couple years; it once seemed likely Wright would spend his entire career in Queens."
Take a shot at acquiring Chris Davis (1B,3B)?
Davis is 14-for-35 with 12 RBI since being demoted to Triple-A Oklahoma City, the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports.
Rundown on Top Prospects
Is there a way we could get someone with the time to do a rundown of our top 15-30 prospects and how they are faring in the minors so far?
I think it could be an awesome recurring post at various times in the season. (maybe monthly?)
I see the daily updates, but im curious to see how they are stacking up, but at BA im reading great things about Spruill and Locke.
Anyone?
