Local DBs

I noticed that D'Andre Payne committed to Tennessee recently. Being a highly rated CB recruit from Friendship, I would have expected that to be a bit of a blow, but after looking around a bit I'm not so sure. This looks to be a strong year for local DB prospect in particular with Tabor being the top option. And it seems like we might have other higher priorities at DB but was curious if Payne was just a lower priority for the staff, if he was the type that was always looking to go away for school, and generally what the story was there.

Regardless, it looks like DBs are one of the main positions that the Terps are going to make their mark in local recruiting this year (just based on numbers). I imagine Tabor can be kept in play with good performance on the field this fall. How do we look with some of the others? Any solid locals (DB or otherwise) that look like they could be an early commit to get the momentum started? What's the pulse on reactions to localized spring practices?

Lots of questions I know, but looking to get some discussion going now that we're dealing with off seasons... still hoping Jalen Tabor decides he's up to the challenge of becoming the face of the Maryland defense and generate the kind of excitement Diggs did for the offense. There could be some great battles in practice between those two that I think people would be excited to see before Diggs goes on and Tabor has the chance to make it "his team".

What happened with Jacquille Veii

I missed what happened if this was discussed and I'm sorry if this was already discussed and I missed the post. I know Jacquille Veii was only a two star and not the most highly touted of our recruits, but I was under the impression that he was excited to be a Terp and he represented part of the local movement, seems to have the interest of mid level programs, and seems to fit the mold for quick guys that this staff seems to like. Did he lose interest in the Terps? If so is that an indicator or worries or slowed momentum due to all the injuries the football team is dealing with? Did the Terps decide they had more important needs to try to fill? Did we want him as a CB and he decided he wanted to be a WR?

Seeing as things are slow... Cirovski signed another solid class. It looks like the team is adding some international flare and some strong representation from around the country too. It seems like a good class that should help keep Maryland soccer competing for championships.

Incoming class:

http://www.umterps.com/sports/m-soccer/spec-rel/050312aac.html

There doesn't seem to be much in the way of reliable rankings, but TopDrawerSoccer.com points out Maryland as one of the classes that stands out:
