http://www.sbnation.com/users/ms Posts made by ms on SB Nation http://www.purplerow.com/2008/11/22/667822/if-you-love-baseball-this ms Sat, 22 Nov 2008 15:04:38 -0000 <p>Trevor Hoffman was in Denver last week to receive the Branch Rickey award for his incredible service to the San Diego community.&nbsp; Hoffman was interviewed by Steffan Tubbs (long-time San Diego fan) for a show that will air Wednesday night (Nov 26) at 8 p.m. on channel 12 (KBDI).</p> <p>I previewed the show.&nbsp; It is awesome.&nbsp; It's especially cool when he demonstrates how he developed and honed his skill with his phenomenal changeup.&nbsp; He talked about baseball, their 1998 World Series (and the team's 10-year reunion), his free agency and his desire to get to 600 saves before he retires and just LOTS of stuff.&nbsp;</p> <p>The Rockies'&nbsp; Jim Kellogg also was on the show talking about the Rockies -- and yes, he touched a bit on Matt Holliday.&nbsp; Branch Rickey, grandson of "Mr. Baseball" Branch Rickey (a native of Colorado Springs) also is on the show.&nbsp; If you don't know the name Branch Rickey, he is the man who broke the color barrier bringing in Jackie Robinson back in 1947.&nbsp; Hearing his grandson talk about those times was really cool.</p> <p>Catch it if you can.&nbsp; If you love baseball as much as I do, you will really enjoy it.</p>
