"I've got to think Freeney, at least, is itching for a draft-weekend trade. "
Peter King wrote today that he believes Dwight Freeney would be happy to be traded. Does this mean it stands much of a chance of happening? I thought Freeney's cap number would make a trade nearly impossible. Does anyone see a pass-rushing needy team taking on 93's bloated contract for a mid-to-late round pick?
Tyler Brayton?
Irsay hints at signing Tyler Brayton. Jon Stinchcomb was released today by the Saints, I think I'd prefer having him fill in as a stopgap with Diem sliding over to RG. Any thoughts?

Are we clearing cap space to sign FAs? Our own?
A List Of Undrafted Free Agents Options For The Colts
[Editor's Note]: We edited the title and altered the body a bit so this would look better on the front page. --bbs
When the lockout is lifted and teams can begin signing UFAs, who would you like for the Colts to sign? After the jump, I've compiled a list of some players I wouldn't mind see given a shot at making the roster/scout team.
OL
Ryan Bartholomew, C, Syracuse
Bryant Browning, G, Ohio State
Colin Baxter, C, Arizona
Willie Smith, T, East Carolina
Zach Hurd, G, UConn
WR
Jamar Newsome, UCF
Owen Spencer, NC State
Darvin Adams, Auburn

As Collegiate Football Wraps Up, I Fantasize
Matt Szczur is a WR/RB and even a bit of a wildcat QB (though, who isn't these days?) for 'Nova. Yes, Villanova is an FCS team playing lower-caliber talent but Szczur is tearing it up. Last week he caught, tossed and ran for a couple TDs -- in the first half.
It was quite a sight and he seems like one of those (brace for the cringe-inducing cliche) "football players." I'd love to see him don a horseshoe next season.
While I'm at it, I would love to snag Rodney Hudson from FSU. I'm not an o-line guru but each Seminoles game I watch the commentators talk about him being the best zone-blocker around. I liked watching him get up-field and block linebackers, too.
I imagine Szczur (if he declares) being no higher than a mid-round pick but, with the sudden influx of holes, I have a hard time believing we would spend a mid-round pick on a "luxury pick" like Szczur.
As I see it, offensive line is the greatest need heading into the off-season. The secondary has holes to fill, linebacker depth wouldn't hurt. It wouldn't be a Colts draft without looking for a solid DT.
Polian philosophy and the allocation of salaries strap the team from making any splashes in free agency. Another draft letdown could set the team back, this could be a big draft. Far, far in advance (not to mention an inappropriate time with the biggest game of the season looming) who are some of your most-desired prospects for our beloved Colts?
Jamaal Charles runs for 56 yard TD
and who sprung a big block and was one of the first to meet him in the end zone?
Stephenson Arrested
Why must you put us Pacer fans through this again? We finally felt we had a high-character roster in place with talent to boot.

Michael Beasley?
If you watched the draft, you've heard the Heat are trying to move Beasley to make enough room under the cap to sign three vets to max-contracts.
I don't like Beasley's attitude but it seems like he would fit in very well with our front court. He would be a huge upgrade over Murph. I'd just like to get the input of some people who know Xs and Os better than myself and how his game might mesh with that of Roy's (and Danny's, for that matter).
Looking ahead to potential conference semi-final opponents
With the seedings in place, it will be the Bengals, Jets or Ravens coming to Indy in a couple of weeks. Which match-up do you think is most favorable for the Colts?
The Jets looked dominant tonight against the Bengals but Peyton and the offense proved they could move the ball against them while they were playing in week 16.
The Bengals have an offense that can explode at any time and a surprisingly stout defense. They were clearly missing something on offense last night.
The Ravens are always a tough match-up, though we do typically find ourselves on the winning side of the dogfight.
Even though our first-team offense played well against the Jets, they are who I would least like to see in two weeks. Their 3-4, mixed-look, blitzing defense is exactly the kind our offensive line has traditionally struggled against. Revis can take Reggie out of the game and I don't see us having a great running game with Harris shredding blocks in the middle of that defense.
Baltimore has its obvious strengths and weaknesses. I think the Colts defense matches up well against their offense with the exception of Ray Rice. I don't see Peyton struggling to ring up any less the 24 points on their defense, however.
In my mind, the Bengals will present the fewest match-up problems. Granted, I just watched their stagnant offense get tortured by the Jets defense, but I also think our defense can impose its will on their offensive line. On the other side of the ball, the Bengals have a solid, not spectacular secondary with Joseph and Hall showing their ball-hawking skills this year. Peyton could surely make them look pedestrian by the 2nd quarter.
What about everyone else? Who do you least want to see? Who do you prefer to see? Anyone liking the Ravens over the Pats? Will the lopsided outcome from tonight's game be any different come next week for the Jets & Bengals?
