Bleed Cubbie Blue Leadoff Hitter for 2011 should be.......

Who was the leadoff hitter in 2007? Soriano

Who was the leadoff hitter in 2008? Soriano

Who was leadoff hitter in 2009? Soriano/Theriot/Fukudome/Other

Who was leadoff hitter in 2010? Theriot/Fukudome/Baker/DeWitt

In 2007, 2008 with Soriano as the leadoff hitter the Cubs went to Playoffs

In 2009, 2010 when we had a mixed bag of leadoff hitters we sucked....

Soriano is the highest paid guy on the team..  He likes to lead off... Let the guy lead off for the year and see what happens.  whats the worst thing that can happen???  Miss playoffs again?

Bleed Cubbie Blue Keep Bradley And Move On!

Trade him, cut him, keep him.  What else can be done?  No other team seems to want him.  The Cubs have said they dont want to cut him so I guess the only thing left is to keep him.

I would guess Bradley wants out of the Cubs organization as much as the Cubs want him out.  Bradley wants a fresh start somewhere just like the fresh start he got in Chicago.  Well we all know he screwed up his latest fresh start and he will screw up the next one as well.  He is a spoiled "I" player who to my knowledge has never taken responsibility for his actions.

Who knows if the Cubs come out and say they are going to keep him and run him out to right field maybe the guy will quit?  Probably not, but I for one would not want to run out to right field knowing that everyone in the stands hates me.

It doesnt really matter.  The distraction will goes away if the Cubs tell everyone he is staying.  I would rather focus on winning with what we have.  Quit talking about Bradley.  Lets find another starting pitcher.

Bleed Cubbie Blue Positive Feeling

Negative thoughts usually fill the head of this Cubs fan.  I have seen our team clutch defeat from jaws of victory on many occasions.  Bad base running, poor fielding, pathetic hitting, not a winning combination.

For some reason i feel like we have the central division right where we want them.  Getting Aramis back is a big boost.  Soriano moved down to the sixth spot IMO is the right move.  Dome leading off is good.  Lee starting to hit lights out.  Lots of positive stuff going on.

Dempster DL trip is a setback but i thought Hart did a nice job today.  I know he walked a few guys (5) but the guy battled.  We have had our share of bad breaks this year.  We will probably get a few more.

I'm not worried about this team.  It may get ugly at times but I believe this team will get hot.  The pitching has been great.  The hitting will get great.  I'm a confident Cub fan right.  Stay positive we have a long way to go.

Bleed Cubbie Blue I'm All For Fire!!!!!

I'm all for passion, fire, hustle, or whatever you want to call it but all the complaining is getting old.  I dont mind the gatorade cooler getting smacked around once a week or even the ocasional ejection.

I laughed a little when Zambrano went nuts.  I think its funny when players eject umpires but it seems to me that we have had too many incidents with umpires this season.  I'm a big fan of Lou and have been for a long time.  i have to wonder how he has been able to keep his emotions in check so far?

I dont disagree that the umpires have fueled some of the fire.  I dont know how many games we have lost to a bad call?  We have lots of problems.  Too many guys making a lot of money that are not performing.

I want to see passion on the field running the bases, diving for balls.  I want to see more action and less pouting and fighting, blaming umps.

i think winning cures all.  When we start winning more ball games my guess is we will stop hearing about bad calls.

Bleed Cubbie Blue who leads off if soriano moves down?

http://www.chicagotribune.com/sports/baseball/cubs/chi-28-cubs-alfonso-sorianojan28,0,6115940.story

If I don't bat leadoff, I think I can have more RBIs, so I want to be the same guy and … I will do whatever I can do," he said this year. "But [if not leadoff] I want to stay in one spot and not jump around."

where would that spot be? fuku, theriot, bradley, soriano, ramirez, lee, soto, font?

Bleed Cubbie Blue Columbus took a chance

I think the Cubs need to investigate signing Sheets.  Rumor has it that 2yr/16m could get him.  I dont rep him i'm just repeating published reports/rumors. I spoke to a friend on mine not long ago some of you may have heard of him, Tommy Lasorda.  Tommy coached him on the Olympic team and he said the guy is a warrior.  No fear of anything.

Unless the guys arm is gonna fall off i would sign him.  i'm also not his doctor so i dont know but the Cubs have taken bigger gambles on lesser guys.

Save the prospects and get Roberts.  I'm sure i will take some heat here from all the true analysts out there and i am ready...

Let the Mudd bash begin............

Bleed Cubbie Blue What value does......

Soriano have to say the Dodgers?  They need a left fielder with power.  they will probably sign Manny for three years and 70mil. (guess) but could have Soriano for prospects.

Brian Roberts is the guy the cubs need to leadoff.  lets put a package together and get him.  sign adam dunn to play left.  dunn would clean up at wrigley.  he cant play lf much worse than sori.

1. roberts

2. theriot

3. bradley

4. ramirez

5. lee

6. dunn

7. soto

8. fukudome

this cub fan wants a true leadoff guy, a balanced lineup, mix power on obp.

just a thought
