Tommy Everidge to be called up

Sacramento Rivercats' (OAK) 1bman, Tommy Everidge will be called up to replace Daric Barton, who is to be put on the 15-day DL from a strained right hamstring. He's never been much of a prospect, but he is mashing in Sacramento, with a line of .382/.432/.636. Already 26, Everidge will probably get an extended look in the Majors while Barton and Giambi are on the DL.

Good news: Beane says he will stay with the A's "until they [owners] don't want [him]"

Bad news: When asked if Bob Geren's job is safe, Beane responds yes.

Barton Reinstated, Petit Called Up, A. Brown to DL

Certainly a busy afternoon for the A's just mere hours before the game against the Red Sox. Daric Barton has been reinstated from the 15-day DL after injuring his neck and head from diving into a shallow pool, and Andrew Brown has been sent to the DL for the second time this season, this time because of right shoulder soreness. Meanwhile, INF Gregorio Petit has been called up from Sacramento in his third stint this season with Oakland. The A's now carry 11 pitchers.

Dodgerangel

This picture has always humored me, but I can't seem to find a picture with an A's hat on top. Has anyone seen one before?

Chavez heading to DL

This is my first attempt at a Fanpost, and it looks like I'm the bearer of bad news. Well, crap. Eric Chavez, 3B, has landed on the 15-day DL because of that recurring shoulder problem that didn't get treated right. Looks like 1B Wes Bankston will be called up. Hopefully, the presence of Bankston will provide some competition to the struggling Daric Barton.
