Athletics Nation MLB Gameday Audio to stream "select" away feeds

This year's signup for MLB Gameday Audio says "All Home and select Away feeds".  In previous years, haven't all feeds both home and road (and in English and Spanish, if there's a Spanish broadcast) been available?  Who is doing the selecting?  Bureaucrats in New York with $$$ in front of their eyes deciding to carry nothing but "major market" away feeds? "Major market" teams being able to opt out and stream their own away feeds for even bigger $$$?

One of the reasons I haven't gotten XM Radio is their carriage of home audio feeds only... something for which there is no excuse on the Internet, which can stream an unlimited number of feeds simultaneously.  I would be very, very unhappy if Gameday Audio went in that direction.

Athletics Nation Ken Korach's Community Fund Poker Event

I was one of the 48 players in today's Oakland A's Community Fund charity poker event hosted by Ken Korach at the Warehouse in Oakland in support of Oakland schools baseball and was lucky enough to come in 4th.

I would like to thank all the A's folk in the radio team and front office and the staff at the Warehouse for putting on the event, with a special thanks to Ray Fosse for obtaining and donating the sports memorabilia, including balls signed by Bob Feller, Dennis Eckersley, Travis Buck, Jack Cust (my prize) and Eric Chavez.  Vince Cotroneo, the last surviving member of the A's contingent in the tournament, played well and with a little more luck could have been late to work.  With a break for lunch, the action lasted all the way to the arrival of the marine layer around 5:00 PM, making our trips home or to the game a relief from this week's (and today's) heat.

Athletics Nation MediaNews Hires Free-Lancer For Seattle Series

I saw an unfamiliar name... Erick Walker... attached to the Contra Costa Times game stories on the A's and Mariners.  He was listed as a correspondent.  A little research on Google showed that he's a Seattle-based free-lancer.

What I should have done is ask where Joe Stiglich was, not jump on MediaNews.  Ulp.
