Q: Why will the KC Texans (Chiefs) be able to beat the Houston Texans so easily? A: After years under Herm Edwards, KC has lots of practice at how to beat yourself.

#5 Matt Cassel, Chiefs QB It made sense for former Pats exec Scott Pioli to bring Matt Cassel to Kansas City, but the price was steep, another $15 million this year. Cassel, who played well after Tom Brady tore his knee in '08, collected big bucks because the Pats had to franchise him to find a trading partner. No one is sure whom to blame in K.C., either -- a shaky WR corps, a young head coach (Todd Haley) who forever changed game plans or Cassel -- for 26 offensive TDs in '09.

The Chiefs are still a draft or two away from respectability. I think they are good enough to get to six wins this season. Maybe they can catch a break and get to seven. What's holding them back is the run-after-catch ability of their receivers.

Teams that have lost players haven't been in a rush to add unrestricted free agents because it could cost them compensatory draft choices next April. Before June, a team that suffers a net loss in free agency receives a compensatory pick. ...The Chiefs, who need players more than most teams, didn't want to risk losing the sixth-round choice and two seventh-rounders that might be available to them.

2010 NFL Draft Grades: NFL Network Vs. ESPN

In our pre-draft poll, ESPN won with 56% of the votes. Some of that was due to the inability of a few of you to get NFL Network on your TV's. Luckily you could watch in on your PC.

Though they're talking about the Browns, how would anyone feel if Pioli just let the # 5 pick pass to try and pick up Berry or Thomas later?

Anthony Hargrove signs New Orleans offer sheet, spurns Detroit

1

If true, this could have a significant impact on who Detroit drafts with the #2 pick. Detroit had been looking to sign the Defensive Tackle to an offer sheet. If they had done so, the Hargrove signing combined with the earlier signing of DT Corey Williams would have significantly decreased the chance that Detroit would select Suh or McCoy. Hargrove's signing with New Orleans puts Suh and McCoy back in play for Detroit.
