My all-time favorite player, the best player ever to play the game, the man who made the Coliseum a feared place in the 1980's, the man who singlehandedly disrupted every game he ever played in.... Rickey Henderson... goes to the Hall of Fame today. The player I worshipped as a kid, whose departure I lamented, whose re-acquisition I celebrated, the one player who kept me loving baseball when the rest of the baseball world was going to hell. Rickey Henderson goes to the Hall today.

It's gonna be a remarkable year for A's fans. I'll see you all in Cooperstown in August.July!!!

I hate Pete Rose. I always have. That smug attitude. The way he lives his life with no self-respect whatsoever. But no one can deny what he meant to the game, and no one can deny that between the lines, he was one of the best- even better when you consider that the guy didn't have much of a build and didn't have much natural talent. I just have to say that it remains an absolute travesty that Rose isn't in the HOF. Same with Shoeless Joe Jackson. As we all know, the Hall is not about morality.

It's about BASEBALL.

I'm not going to get into an argument about it here. I just wanted to say that, no matter how much I hate the guy, he deserves his place in the Hall, alongside Ty Cobb, Babe Ruth, and all the other miscreants that mastered the great game.

I'm not holding it back anymore... I've been stoic and silent all season, glad we're winning and all, but I have nightmares about losing Barry. Come on people, join me and cry it out now! KEEP BARRY!
