!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! This is great news for the defense next season, especially with the losses of Orakpo and Melton.

If Serg can improve upon his game some more he's going to be borderline unstoppable!

"Kindle, whose freshman and sophomore seasons were marred by injuries, returns to Austin with a list of lofty goals. He wants to help the Longhorns win a national championship, earn the Lombardi and Nagurski awards that graduating teammate Brian Orakpo claimed this season and establish himself as a first-round lock before leaving UT with a degree."

I will be out of town during opening weekend but will have access to a laptop.

I know going to a sports bar is probably the best option but does anyone know if channelsurfing.net broadcasts FSN regional? And I remember people used to post the SOPcast URL's for last year's games. Was wondering if someone could forward the site where they were posted

If anyone has any info on whether FSN games are usually available or not, it would be appreciated!

Rivals Mainboard: Ebanks to Texas

A poster on the Rivals Basketball Recruiting board said that his sources have indicated that Devin Ebanks will commit to Texas after his visit this weekend. I've heard that Ebanks has a liking for Coach Barnes, but this is odd because the point man in Ebanks' recruitment, Ken McDonald, recently accepted another coaching job.

This dude also predicted the Greg Monroe recruitment to a T.

But that would definitely not suck! Adding Ebanks to J'Covan Brown would put us in good shape for next year. Especially with the loss of DJ Augustin.

Hope for the best, expect the worst...

Rundown of the First 2 Practices

I was able to attend both of our open practices on Friday & Saturday so here's a short run down of some observations, etc.

Here's a bit of a rundown of Friday's and Saturday's practice;

young DB's look great. Chykie Brown is looking like our best DB right now, he's all over the field. Wells and Thomas are the first team safeties right now during 7-7. 11-11.

the backup QB's have a way to go. they made some good throws and some pretty bad throws. Colt looks pretty good considering the lack of time he's had with the newer WR's

Malcolm Williams is definitely starting to separate from the pack. I don't know if i've ever seen a 6'3" 225 lb WR run like that.

Buckner looks good too, made some nice catches today (Saturday).

First team defensive line consisted of Houston, Miller, Alexander, and Orakpo

On friday, Muschamp ran a 4-2-5, Nickel look almost the entire time rotating LB groups. Group 1 was Muck and Bobino. Group 2 was Norton and Robinson.

Keenan Robinson has grown and certainly passed the eyeball test, the man was stellar in coverage.

Shipley looks like hes finally gotten his first injury-free offseason, you can definitely tell he's improved a lot.

Cody Johnson looks like a TANK

Fozzy has shown tremendous speed and agility while looking bigger as well. But you can definitely tell that McGee is the best 'back on the team. Fozzy is looking more and more like he'll be assuming the Ramonce Taylor role.

Beasley looked great in coverage as well. If you're looking at just the last 2 practices, Palmer is the third corner right now. Chykie was covering Quan and he had absolutely no way of getting by him. STUD

INJURY REPORT: Curtis Brown had arthroscopic knee surgery a couple days ago, it's not serious as he was seen walking around during practice. However, he did have a limp. Mack has said he'll be back for the last 8 practices. Sergio was also seen walking around with a limp. But good news is that he's walking.

The Lb's look like they will not be a problem this year as Muschamp sent Robinson, Muck, and Norton as the "first" team for Saturday's 11-11's. On the 2nd day, Bobino was sent out as first team but was frequently spelled by Robinson

***Another nice little nugget about Muschamp;

During the first day, Muckelroy picked off Colt and ran it back for a touchdown. Coach Muschamp trailed the defense down the field and got right into the middle of the celebration. I think we found a keeper.

PB, the Eyes of Texas was an excellent read last year and I was wondering if it's going to be an annual issue.

If so, around when can we expect it to be released?

Thanks in advance!

The update about Colorado's in-home was posted and apparently the CU coaches made their pitch and told him they would completely re-design their offense for him.

It seemed to make an impression but he did not commit.

Although this reeks of desperation, I've heard their staff feels confident about it.

PB what are you hearing about this?

As most of you know both teams have had In-home visits with Darrell this week.

Colorado held theres yesterday. What may be news to some of you is that Dan Hawkins was not allowed to attend because he had already taken his in-home sometime back.

Scott told Orangebloods that we had widened our lead after Mack and Major's In-home. But after CU's in-home the picture has become a little cloudy because Darrell is playing everything close to his vest even with those close to him.

Just received note that he knows who he is going to commit to but is going to make us wait until NSD for the announcement. -

A full report of both the visits will be posted in a little while on Orangebloods.com

So I suggest those of you with subscriptions get on over there to get a read on. Or troll the free boards for pieces of info that fall from the premiums!

PS; I have a premium subscription so I'll try to keep you guys posted but I'm afraid I will have to limit how much I can disclose.

PB, is most of this consistent with the info you are receiving?

For those of you who are not familiar with possibly one of the best kept secrets in Texas recruiting, and possibly our biggest difference maker for the 08 season.

Allow me to introduce DJ Grant

If you ask me, this guy could be the WR to emerge out of the incoming freshman class. He no doubt would have been rated as one of the premiere WR's by all recruiting analysts had he not missed his junior season due to injury. That catch is shades of the future.

DJ Grant is a Badass

The "all jobs open" policy seems to be in full effect after seeing some of hte press conference quotes.

How cool would it be to actually see what the cupboard hold for the next couple years?

Aside from the Linebacker debacle, if there was one player I want to see the most it's Chykie Brown. Simply because we've NEVER seen him. Curtis has seen a few snaps here and there, but i don't believe i've ever caught a glimpse of Chykie at DB.
