Tim Griffin ranks '03 Championship #8

Tim Griffin of ESPN has been running his top 25 games/moments in Big 12 history. At number 8, K-State's stunning upset over the undefeated Sooners makes the list. I'm not surprised by Griffin's rankings due to the fact that there is only one south team involved. But here's a few things that bothered me about the write up:

Griffin fails to mention that the early season loses were mainly due to key injuries to Ell Roberson and Darren Sproles. If those two were healthy the entire season, a national championship appearance might have been in order.
Top ranked Oklahoma, as Griffin says, is an understatement. The "talking heads" were potentially crowning OU as the best team ever. The comparisions were plentiful.
There was no mention of the type of season Darren Sproles had. He made it sound like this game came out of nowhere from him. Griffin fails to mention that Sproles made the trip to New York along with Jason White.
Although I didn't expect Griffin to write this, but I love brining it up. I can't remember which newspaper I read this in, but at one point in the game Jason White was knocked around so bad that he temporarily forgot where he was. Sadly, this was the last known game of the Lynch Mob....

Looks like we'll square off against the Cougars for the next two years. Given what they have done last year and the recruiting class that is coming in, this should be marked down as a W.

Not sure how they made up the schedules, but it's apparent that the UT-USC and the KU-UCLA games were thought of first.
