Pedro Alvarez compared with Alex Gordon

Especially after tonight I think we should all look (and it might take a while) to find some positives for El Toro so here is a story I enjoyed comparing Alvarez to Gordon of the KC Royals. I want this to be the year for us to turn it around to but we NEED Pedro if we want to compete in 2013/14 when Cole, Taillon, Marte arrive and Cutch and Walker are hopefully all still in the prime of their career. My only other point of contention is Clint Hurdle is supposed to be a pretty good hitting coach so it might be best to keep Pedro up with Hurdle than send him back to the coaches at AAA. I have no idea about the background of the AAA coaches but seems like Hurdle is a guy that can retool Alvarez, if anyone can.

Sports Illustrated Disrespects Buccos

Even just questioning whether the Pirates should be seller is an insult to a team that is 0.5 games back in the division. Not only that but they say the Pirates have gotten lucky and stayed healthy this year! What a joke. Our pitching has stayed healthy except for Meek and Ohlendorf (Ohlendorf could be a blessing in disguise with Karstens dominating) and left field, 3rd base, catcher, and to lesser extent shortstop have all gone through major injuries and have required AAA players or individuals via trade (McKenry). If they said this because we need to be careful about buying because we can't afford to deal prospects I would understand but they are talking about us being sellers. Really?
