I need help!!!
Football news is slow at this time, so I figure this is a good time to post this and ask advice from the smartest people on the planet, Bama fans.
Here's the deal: I have a baby boy due in early April, and I am trying to come up with names. My daughter's name starts with K (Kailee), and she has requested that we try to name our son a name that begins with K as well so they will have the same initials. My wife and I have been looking at names and are having a hard time finding one that we like. The middle name will be Bryant, which was my idea for obvious reasons.
So, I am looking for suggestions. Anybody got any ideas?
Thoughts on Miss St.?
Well, I'm tired of reading all of this crap about auburn and cam newton. Sure, it's fun to watch the disaster unfold, but we do have a game with Miss St tomorrow. So, I'm wondering what your thoughts on Miss St are. Honestly, I've only watched them play one time this year against Auburn, which seems like ages ago.
I understand that they are coming in on a 6 game win streak, but several conclusions can be drawn from a look at their schedule thus far. Close game with auburn ended in an L, then a blowout loss to LSU at LSU. After that, it appears that they have benefited from a weaker schedule. The best wins they have are over Georgia (24-12) and Florida (10-7). Aside from that, theyve beaten the likes of Alcorn St, Houston, UAB and Kentucky. Not an impressive resume by any means.
So, given this limited amount of knowledge of the Bulldogs, I see a team that we should beat. From what I understand, they have an impressive running game (good enough for 14th in the country) coupled with a passing attack ranking 101st in the nation. On defense, they are able to stop runners well enough to earn a top 25 ranking in that category, but pass defense falls well below at 71st.
It appears their strength will be running the ball, which I feel confident that we will be able to stop rather efficiently. Their passing attack is another story, as we all know our secondary is prone to giving up big plays.
Offensively for us, although I know weve been rather bipolar at times, I feel we will be able to score enough points on them and move the ball fairly well. Julio should have another big day. Hopefully this will spread the defense out enough to provide a spark to the running game. We were able to put points up on a much better LSU defense last week than we will face this week.
Overall, Im not on pins and needles about this game like some folks seem to be. I think this is a game that Bama should and will win going away at the end.
Well, this is my attempt to get some discussion started on the Miss St game....your thoughts?
Mark Ingram
I haven't seen this mentioned anywhere else, so I wanted to get some opinions from you guys on here. At the conclusion of the SC game, the camera showed Ingram sprinting immediately into the locker room. I must admit that I was a little disappointed by that. A few weeks earlier, I watched Ryan Mallett walk straight off of the field without shaking hands or congratulating Bama players and coaches and I thought to myself, "what a whiny little baby". To me, it was just disappointing to see our Heisman trophy winner quickly escape to the locker room after a defeat. It seemed a little cowardly. Did anyone else notice this? Did this bother you?
Bama Meltdown....Shame on us!
I sat at halftime writing a text to one of my favorite Bama buddies, something to the effect of "we just can't stop them, we are toast". After seeing our secondary blow coverages seemingly on every other play, I had little confidence in our defense to put a halt on the hogs. I don't remember the last time I had seen a Bama defense look so bad. Something deep inside me was telling me, we will make a run at some point in this game. However, I chose to ignore it and I was already walking around my house sulking, pissing and moaning as if we had already lost. As the 3rd quarter began rolling along, I thought I would sign on to RBR, maybe there I would find a little perspective, I thought to myself....
Wow, I thought I was having a meltdown. There were several positive "believing" comments, but for the most part, it was major meltdown. At some point I remember reading a post, cant remember who said it, but it said something like "we are going to be in our own meltdown thread this week, WTF?". I was so delirious that it cracked me up.
Several of us Tide fans lost hope, including myself. It did appear hopeless. Maybe we forgot how many games weve won over the past several years. Maybe we forgot the games against ut and auburn last year. Maybe we forgot that we have a team that will NOT stop fighting. I don't know what it was. Maybe it was that we were acting like spoiled little brats that weren't getting exactly what we wanted. Whatever the case, WE, as fans, lost our poise. Thank God our team didn't!

Thoughts on South Carolina?
I don't feel like reading through the hundreds of posts on the game thread, so I was wondering what everyone's initial thoughts on South Carolina were. For me, they looked pretty good. I've been hearing for years "if their offense ever catches up" they may be an SEC contender. It appeared last night that their offense has improved a great deal. I know, however, that it was against a Southern Miss team that may not be very good at all. I guess we will see as the year progresses. I paid particular attention to this game due to the fact we will be facing them coming off of an open date, on the road. So, your thoughts....
ROLL TIDE ROLL!!!
