Shaun Rogers is coming to visit the Saints. I think this would be a great veteran signing, at a fairly reasonable price. He would add some valuable depth to our D-line rotation.

8. The return of Pierre Thomas. This is how transient the running game is in the NFL: Thomas has missed nine games with a sprained ankle, and it seemed like a major loss. In the past four games, Tiffin College's finest, Chris Ivory, has rushed for 304 yards and five touchdowns, and the Saints have averaged 33 points in those four wins. Not to be a wise guy, but you should have signed that extension when you had the chance before the season, Pierre.

New LS Justin Drescher brings a unique aspect to the Saints field goal unit. Drescher, K Garrett Hartley and holder QB Chase Daniel all went to the same high school as they played together at Southlake Carroll (Texas) High School.

Moving between weakside and strongside this season after losing battery mate Scott Fujita to the Browns, Shanle has racked up the worst Stop Rate against the pass (19 percent) of any outside linebacker. Pass plays in his general direction have averaged 9.6 yards - we're no math professors, but when you're almost giving up a first down per play, that's not good.

Good article, and as always, I love hearing Fujita rant. I also think he makes some pretty interesting points.

Undrafted rookie making his first start. Better or worse than Derek Anderson? Hard to say based on how badly he had been playing...

I don't know quite what to make of this. Insurance in case Meachem and Henderson recover slowly?

Now it's on ESPN too. Maybe it's for real. I hope, I'll feel much better about the opener.

Deal between Saints and Redskins finalized. Brown was traded for a conditional pick that varies depending on how he and McNabb perform next season.

ESPN is reporting that the trade is almost complete, and in no way involves Albert Haynesworth.

Could be a Charles Grant replacement? He's not a long term solution, but it would allow us to focus on upgrading the OLB position in the draft, especially after Fujita's departure.

Cool article on SI.com making the argument that Brees had the best statistical game in NFL history against the Pats.

Kolb has officially been named the starter for tomorrow.

Thoughts on the situation? Regardless of what they've said about how he's looked in practice, I still would rather have him back there than McNabb, or Garcia for that matter.
