Turf Show Times *Poll* Is the NFL hurting the entertainment value of the game?

I'm writing a class research paper and part of my topic is that the NFL is ruining much of the entertainment value of pro football and it's main appeal, the violence of the sport. The NFL is a violent game and the league is trying to minimize that but they are also trying to protect the players we love to watch. What is your take on this issue? Please answer the poll question below

Denver Stiffs Afflalo question

You guys have 4 major free agents this year in Wilson Chandler, Arron Afflalo JR Smith, and Nene. What are the chances you guys let Afflalo walk ? How many of these guys will be realistically keep able and who do you think ends up staying? There is no way you can keep all 4 or maybe even 3 .

Just a curious fan who'd love to have any of these guys on the W's :)

Liberty Ballers What do you guys want for Iggy?

Are you guys only looking for money and a pick? If so would you guys wants Vlad,Gazduric and Brandan Wright for him? Thats about 17 mil in expiring contracts. Maybe we throw in a pick to make it work? I've lurked around the site a little bit and some people are really desperate to get rid of him, well we'd love to have him :)

If you guys wanted a starter type guy would Biedrins + Wright/Vlad be enough?

Denver Stiffs W's fan asking about JR Smith

Whats up with him and Karl? Is he done in Denver? We really need some guard deph behind Curry and Ellis since Reggie Williams is sorta a weird 1/3 combo. We need a 6th man bad, would you guys do Vlad Radmonovic/Gazduric (your choice, both have really big expiring contracts) and Brandan Wright who has fallen out of favor with our coach for unknown reasons for him? I've been lurking recently and see you guys would really want B Wright, I'll answer any questions on him/the W's if you want.

Clips Nation How much would it take to get Deandre Jordan?

I was just thinking about that randomly and I have no idea what you guys would want since you have all your positions pretty stacked. Would you guys need someone really good? Would you sell low? Does the FO like him? He seems to be in limbo as a guy with big upside but will be behind your franchise player and all star center.  Do you guys think he is a future starter for you guys or can be a starter in the NBA?

Golden State Of Mind Ty Lawson Vs. Brandon Jennings

As the draft gets closer and closer, we will most likely have the seventh pick in this years draft wich is one of the weakest in years. The only players that standout are Harden, Griffin, and Rubio. But the most talken about on this site is Brandon Jennings.

Jennings- He is extremely athletic and works well in running offenses. We saw in the all american game how well of a passer he is and his crazy dunks so there is no doubt this kid has alot of talent nut when you look how he has done in europe, it does not look good. He is playing against stronger guys the likes of which he will play in the NBA and cant seem to shake them none the less get a body on someone. Turnover prone and is a bad three point shooter. But the game is alot slower over in europe so maybe playing in the U.S. is just what he needs. He has not had a good turnover to assist ratio and is a really bad rebounder. I think at best he can be like Crwaford and at worst a Telfair.

The man who led his team to a national title and boosted his stock in the process but how much?

Lawson- The fastest man in college basketball is a true pint guard who ius also somewhat of a sharpshooter. Great playmaking ability and is very consistent. Decent defender and shows good effort on the boards, but his small size limits him on how effective he is down low. He is a system point guard as far as we know and he had the luxury of having Tyler Hansbrough for three years. Top five passer in college hands down and was a stealing machine. He does have short arms and needs to learn to play at differnt speeds at the next level.Recent point guards who have came out of UNC (Felton) have not been as good as people thought he was going to be so this could affect his stock somewhat. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncb/player/profile?playerId=31608

Note: The Warriors were one of a coople teams including Miami and Toronto who visited him over in europe to scout him. http://www.boston.com/sports/basketball/articles/2009/04/26/point_guard_is_a_big_leaper/?page=full

Golden State Of Mind Free agents of interest

The Warriorsarguably are justas crazy as the warriors when it comes to the offseason and there are some good players out there this year. But notablymost of the players hyere to get would require us loosing Maggs, Marco, Crawford, or Wright.

-Mike Bibby: Nelly said they will look at veteran point guards and Bibby would fit well with our offense.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=61

-Jason Kidd:A veteran guard who can play defens, rebound, pass and shoot the 3. Buthe is 36 years old.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=429

-Anthony Carter: He would strictly be a backup but would bring veteran leadership and a good passing ability off the bench.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=137

-Ron Artest: Having him in our lineup would make us look down right dcary. Great Defender, good rebounder an he is a decnt 3 point shooter.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=25

-Trevor Ariza: Great defender, good shooter, still young. He could be good starting or off the bench.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=2426

-Lamar Odom: Him and Randolph would be the dynamic duo and he is good at the 3 or 4. He would fit in perfectly here.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=617

- Hedo Turkoglu:He said he is leaning toward opting out and he is a good passer, and shooter but is not a great rebounder an a decentdefender, but he would demand a large contract.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=862

-Andre Miller: Veteran pint guard who is a good passer and defender but seems like he plays better in a slower system but not neccisarily half court.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=557

-Matt Barnes: Hustle man and why wouldnt we want him back? Everyone remembers howhe played before the tragedy of his mother dying. http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=1765

-Grant Hill: He may be old but he he can run the floor great and would be perfect with Nelly. Leadership skills, and a good defender.http://sports.espn.go.com/nba/players/profile?playerId=336

Silver And Black Pride It's time....

It's time we finally send Al Davis a message. He by himself have destroyed opur once great franchise with overpaid players, terrible draft picks and firing coaches. First off speed doesnt always mean your a good player, You know what makes a good player? Smarts, attitude, work ethic, then the skill comes into play. We need a number one guy for our young qb, but the way were "helping" him he is well on his road to being a bust. Instead of drafting the second coming of Boldin in Crabtree or the 2nd coming of DeSean Jackson in Maclin, we get the 2ndcoming of Ashley Lelie. Bey is a great Reciever if he is going to be your 3rd guy but is not your first. And to top that off our baytown rivals snatched of Crabtree right in our faces. Does Al ever learn that he was ahead of the curve in the 80's an 70's but nowheis like a caveman? They should make a commercial like: draft like Al Davis, so easy a cave man can do it.... He said he wouldhire a GM and he did not. WHy do you even have scouts if you do not listen to them? He is also a hippicrite with saying spped an size wins. Our super bowl team was full of old guys that couldnt run that fast anyomre, Brown was alot slower, so was Rice an Porter was nevera burner. Maybe that team where our main core was not full of speed guys was a good thing. No how you can tell? WE WERE IN THE SUPER BOWL. Now it is our turn, We should refuse to buy season tickets, do not buy apparel, protest for the Al Davis stepping down, an when you do go to the games, bring signs saying fire Davis or anything else like that or even paper bags. Now a pray to god Bey and whoever that other guy is prove me wrong because I refuse to jumpship, but lets just be real for a second. We need to find a way to force him to get a GM. Even get Al to pay back those coaches he fired and buy the way Kiffin and Shanhan if they were given some time could have taken us somewhere. If he likes to get so involved in the team, heck let him be the head coach so he can fire himself! Heres another tip when people draft recievers, when you draft one remember if the reciever can't catch he probably is not a good reciever.  If tomorrow is as bad as today we need to go to the facility and protest or something in that matter. This ridiculous and it is getting to point where the commisioner should take a look at his health to see if he is really still capable of managing a team. We actually werenot have a bad offseason till this, we stocked up our line alot, we kept good players and didn;t go on a spending spree and even restructured Kell's an walker's contracracts. But if we wanted Bey we should have just traded down so we can get more picks or a player an have to pay him less money. Even Cable said it before the draft theat his big four was Crabtree, Raji, Smith, and Maclin. I am tired of everyo9ne screwing with us just because of our owner, I think the game against Tampa was a sign at the end of the year, when Al was not there we beat a very good playoff team an knocked them out off the playoffs. I AM TIRED OF THIS AND IF YOU GUYS ARE NOT, THERE IS SOMETHING WRONG WITH YOU.

Silver And Black Pride should we make a move for braylon edwards?

As you may know Braylon Edwars is on the block and may be moved before the season starts. I think we should make a move for him. Getting him would give us flexibility in the draft so we can go defense, we can trade the pick etc. But what if we get him and crabtree? That would be one of the better reciever tandems in the NFL. Maybe trading Fargas or bush over there could draw some interest. Jaml Lewis is getting older and we have some young backs, then maybe give them Routt and a later draft pick(not this season) like a 2nd rounder. It would havee to be a trade and sign because his contract is up after next season. Now he does drop alot of passes but also makes alot of big plays and he could help out Russell some.

http://sports.espn.go.com/nfl/players/profile?playerId=8418

Edward did have a down year this year but partly to do with Derek Anderson being a one year wonder but he did drop easy passes sometimes. Just look at his crazy 2007 numbers when there team was good.

Golden State Of Mind Maggette's future

The season has come closer to an end and early in the season we wanted Maggette out of the picture. Since he has been coming off the bench he has been great for us and is up for 6th man of the year. I have grown very fond of him as he is a decent rebounder and a good scorer but sometimes I just get so very mad at him! When he passes up on a open pass to go body seek, it really hurts are team and in key times.

strengths:

-Great scorer.

-Gets to the line at will.

-One of the better 6th men in the NBA.

-Good rebounder.

-Exciting in the open court.

-Solid mid range game.

-Athletic freak

weakness':

-Tunnel vision.

-Won't pass.

-For as many times he gets to the line he should shoot a higher percentage.

-Bad defender.

-Turn overs an issue.
