It’s great that Mike Leach will remain the football coach at Texas Tech. My thanks to those who helped it happen. I don’t think that anyone knows exactly who those people are - but evidently many of you think you know who those people were not.

So we need to fire Myers? Hance and the BOR are all morons with no business running Texas Tech? Mike doesn’t want to stay in Lubbock – heck, he isn’t even loyal… all he wants to do is parlay this gig into a better one – it’s all about the money.

By golly, if things don’t happen the way we think they should, and when we think they should, then we just might be finished with the Red Raiders, huh?

Do you feel a little silly now?

When will we learn that regardless of the media’s reporting, and all of the so-called expert opinions based upon supposed “reliable sources close to the situation,” we really don’t know what is really going on.

It is interesting to me that once the deadline came and went, tons of folks expected the worst. Then, without much fuss, both sides got it done. I know it’s early, and it’s likely that more details will come out, but I didn’t hear any mention of Leach’s agents in the press conference. That might be a significant point.

Who cares? I believed Mike would be around next year, and now, he should be around even longer. That's good news for Tech football - and Great news for Red Raider fans. Thank you Coach Leach, for hanging in there. Wreck 'em, Tech!

Update on Harrell - next AT&T Player of the Year

Hopefully you are all aware that Graham Harrell is one of four players who have been nominated for AT&T Player of the year. You might have heard of the other three players who are also nominated: Tim Tebow from Florida, Colt McCoy from Texas, and, oh yes, a guy named Bradford from (I)OU. The voting continues through January 6, 2009 - but presently here are the results so far: Aforementioned Bradford kid (didn't he win the Heisman??) 11%. Colt McCoy (seems like he went to New York too, didn't he?) 20%. Tim Tebow ( he's gotten some hype it seems) 22%.

Our man, Graham Harrell, who was left out of the Heisman hoopla - is currently earning 47% of the nation-wide vote for Player of the YEAR! Of course, we know the reason for this: there are just more Red Raider fans nationwide than UT, Florida or OU fans.

I encourage you to show your support for GH and all the other Red Raiders that have made this possible by voting as many times as you can before 1/6/09.

When Graham wins, it will mean that Red Raiders will have won this honor two years in a row!

Additionally, I believe that the Harrell to Crabtree TD to end the UT game will be chosen as the Game Changing Play of the Year - and net the Raiders some nice recognition and scholarship money.

GO RAIDERS!!

Ho-hum... another week, another award...

Graham Harrell was selected this week's AT&T Player of the week... again... for the fourth time this year. Just as remarkable: Texas Tech players, including a kid who was watching the Eastern Washington game from the stands until his moment in the third quarter, have won the award an amazing 6 out of 11 weeks.

With all of the remarkable press our Red Raiders are receiving, its almost become common place that the Nation's Player of the week is from Tech!

The wonderful thing about this is: every player on the team realizes that individual awards are secondary to what the TEAM achieves.
