i was born in Boulder, but i grew up in south florida. having lived here since i was a year old, i consider myself a local in almost every way...
except when it comes to my local sports team.
i learned the game of football from my mom. she grew up in a house with her mom, dad, and 2 sisters. my pappaw being severely out-numbered, usually ended up letting one of the girls decide what was on the tv- except on sundays. that was his day to watch football, which he always did by himself. my mom was the middle child and often felt she was at a disadvantage in the competition for her dad's attention. she figured out, though, that she could have him for hours all to herself if she could just tolerate a little football on the tv. over the years he shared his passion and his knowledge of the game- things that she took with her when she moved out to start her own family. she lived in boulder long enough to have two boys and to fall in love with the young quaterback of the broncos.
so,
far from the rockies, in a house with jalousie windows, i learned not only about the MileHigh magic but why Elway was better than marino- i learned this as i learned how many chances you get to move the ball 10 yards.
so now with me in my 30's and my mom resting peacefully, i am a Bronco for life.
a fan of
Miami Heat
Denver Broncos
Chael Sonnen
The Tuna Helpers
