A little Theodore tomorrow night?

Since everyone and their mother's lover's best friend's drug dealer are Fanposting these past two days I figured I'd throw this out there.

Rich Harden is scheduled to go tomorrow night, but as well all know his starts can be extremely spotty, and extremely limited. Lilly, on the other hand, has thrown 6+ innings of no-hit ball twice in the last month and as looked like the most dominant pitcher on the roster.

Without a doubt we need the bats to come alive, but in an all-or-nothing Saturday Night Showdown we need a pitcher who can keep us in the game, and I believe Lilly gives us that chance.

Plus, I really wanted to post this again:

Another epic win: Where were you?

We were down. Again.

We had squandered chances. Again.

But when it counted, the bats woke up, and the Wrigley faithful had something to cheer about.

The common thread with this team seems to be "Don't count us out." Today's game was another in the seemingly endless stream of "Can you believe it?!" moments of the 2008 Chicago Cubs.

So, where were you today?

I was stuck, at work, frantically trying to avoid any and all work so I could look at just one more post in the game threads. I rocked my chair back and forth, rubbed my chin, and adjusted my tie with every ball and strike, every hit and out. I joked around with my friends here during downtimes, and sweated it out with them when things got tense (TWSS).

I also saw my screen freeze then burst to life with roughly twenty-five posts proclaiming Jimmy Edmonds just did the impossible and saved our hides. Could we actually win this one? Hell yeah we could, as Reed Johnson redefines "taking one for the team."

This was one of those days I was taping the game and was planning on avoiding BCB like the plague. Boy am I glad I didn't. Cos I wouldn't have missed this jubilated celebration for the world.

So, I ask, what's your story today?

With the high number of day games the Cubs play combined with a roughly normal working day schedule, I find myself taping a large portion of them to watch later at night. In the age of streaming games, box score updates, ESPN highlights, and almost pitch-by-pitch coverage on this here site the temptation for instant gratification is almost unbearable. However, come game time, I invariably find myslef avoiding anything related to the game like the plague, just hoping I can make it through the day unspoiled. Am I alone?
