Is Saturday setting himself up for a bad year?

I really have no reason to doubt him and there has been no evidence to ever question the man's ability, but do any of you think that Jeff Saturday's performance is going to decline this year because he has spent his entire off season, not preparing for the season but in negotiations.

I'm sure he takes every minute of time he has to workout and get ready but there hasn't been an enormous amount of time for him to do so anyway. I know he is one of the most respected professionals in the game, but he is right behind De Smith in leading these negotiations, spending hours upon hours in a board room instead of in the weight room, PT lab or football field. There is only so much time in a day.

Maybe its really no big deal because we know that the negotiations, for some unknown reason, haven't been on urgent status until the past couple of weeks, so hopefully Saturday was diligent about preparations when he was given the time.

I know this is a far-fetched speculation, but just some thoughts I had. Especially with Training Camp being shortened more and more. He has been a bed-rock for year and the only sense of consistency on the line, any drop off would be detrimental to the team. What do y'all think?

Here's where we stand according to the recruiting websites going into the final week of signings. Let's see if they change at all after NSD

Rivals #7 (13 4*, 10 3*)

Scout #16 (8 4*, 14 3*)

ESPNU #11(9 4*, 5 3*, 8 others)

Lots of disparity in the rankings b/w the sites, but I've always considered Rivals the most trusted. Since they have us ranked the highest, I'll take it.

See if we can land a few bigges and boost that ranking. If we stay at 7, I call it a success.

First which network do you think covers or has covered each sport best or which channel would you prefer to watch college football, NBA bball, etc.?

Second, which network do you think does or has done the best overall for its respective sport?

First off, I hate everything on Fox, except maybe Saturday baseball. So they're really out of the question.

I like CBS for college basketball (of course, really no other option but I don't think anyone could do any better)

NBC for pro bball, ABC for college football. I really like MNF this year with Tirico, Jaws and Gruden. Baseball, I'd have to go back to when Bob Costas called it on NBC.

Overall - I'm gonna cheat and go with the Olympics on NBC. I think they do a superb job and I love Bob Costas.

All this talk about the Big 10 (11) expanding to 12 teams might have an affect on Tennessee.

From what I've read, two possible candidates are Nebraska and Missouri. If they jump (I don't know why anyone would leave the 2nd best conference for the 4th/5th best conference) (I guess there is the "tradition") then the Big XII would necessarily look for a candidate to replace. That likely candidate:

SEC whipping boy Arkansas-who might want to renew the old Texas school rivalries. That would leave the SEC looking for a new insitution (I still can't imagine the Hogs leaving the jugernaut payoff of the SEC, but who knows, they are Arkansas)

Leaving the SEC (and more importantly its huge monetary advanate) with its pick of who to join.

My vote would be for Georgia Tech. They're an old SEC school and I think has a genuine up and coming program. That triple option, I think, is exciting and fun to watch.

Jacque Reeves barely arm-barred Pierre Garcon, and a drive-sustaining flag came flying. Manning doesn't need your help, zebras. This is really saying something, but that's the worst PI call of the year.

Peter King. Again. Although I do think the call was pretty ridiculous. This is why the media can't buy the Colts. There's always something big each game that the medial can latch onto and deny the Colts' ability. This was the big one in this game.
