Tiger Woods taking hiatus from golf

I am deeply aware of the disappointment and hurt that my infidelity has caused to so many people, most of all my wife and children. I want to say again to everyone that I am profoundly sorry and that I ask forgiveness. It may not be possible to repair the damage I've done, but I want to do my best to try.

I would like to ask everyone, including my fans, the good people at my foundation, business partners, the PGA Tour, and my fellow competitors, for their understanding. What's most important now is that my family has the time, privacy, and safe haven we will need for personal healing.

After much soul searching, I have decided to take an indefinite break from professional golf. I need to focus my attention on being a better husband, father, and person.

Again, I ask for privacy for my family and I am especially grateful for all those who have offered compassion and concern during this difficult period.

 

TIGER Woods is ready to quit golf in a desperate bid to save his shattered marriage.

The 33-year-old world Number One told wife Elin he "will do anything" after being linked with a string of women.

Elin, 29, has agreed to stay with the billionaire star for the sake of their two young children.

Uchitel also detailed her contact with Woods, which according to her consisted of seating him and his group at the New York nightclub where she was working as a VIP hostess and helping to set up a bachelor party in Las Vegas, which Woods attended as a guest.

"Tiger and I are not friends. That's a whole different ballgame. I've only met him twice. He came in to The Griffin (the Meatpacking District nightclub where she worked as a VIP hostess) in the summer. As usual in my job, I got a call from a promoter that he's coming in. I went outside and brought him and his entire group in, walked them upstairs, introduced him to his waitress."

 

Later, when Uchitel was helping set up the the Las Vegas bachelor party, she claims to have been contacted by a third party and never spoke with Woods.

"I got a random phone call from somebody who needed to set up a bachelor party in Vegas," Uchitel said. "He said, 'Tiger Woods was going to be with us, can you set us up?' I said sure. I had no contact with Tiger Woods, nothing to do with Tiger Woods."

 

Uchitel admitted to being in Melbourne at the same time Woods was there for the Australian Masters, but denied going there to see Woods. "I travel all the time. It's part of my job. I'm always traveling with people who are bottle-service customers, or clients who have become friends. I was down in Australia with friends who were there for a number of different reasons and had nothing to do with Tiger Woods."

The Post interview concluded with this declaration from Uchitel: "My statement is: I work in clubs and I am a businesswoman. I do not have sex with celebrities, and I have not had an affair with Tiger Woods."
