Dibble's out. 18 less games a year that I have to mute.
Blanton gets 3yrs/24mil
Nice. I can't wait to see the Braves light him up for the next three years.
Vlad agrees with Texas
Does anyone kinda wish that we went after him?
Atkins Becomes A Free Agent
I'd take him at an affordable price. What about you?
Uggla for Javy? Keep dreaming FLA
Marlins beat writer mentions that a swap of Uggla for Vazquez would make sense for both teams. I'd never do this trade, unless Uggla learned LF.
3-Year Deal For Huddy?
Atlanta might give Hudson a 3 year contract worth 27 million. I'd say he's worth 9 a year.
Braves were 3rd best team in MLB in 2009
Braves were the third best team in baseball in 2009. OPS x 10 - ERA. Atlanta's "opsera" was 3.87, behind only LAD and NYY.
Umpires Today
Watching the Braves and other MLB games this year, I have noticed particularly awful umpiring. Anywhere from tonight's call on Escobar at the plate to Bill Hohn's inconsistent strike zone, umpires have blown calls very frequently this year. So, I want to know, what is the cause of all of these blown calls that we are seeing? I personally think that MLB should institute a challenge system much like the NFL's. I know that people complain about the length of the game, but I think that the slow nature of the game is what makes it unique in comparison to other American sports. Anyways, please vote on the pole. Thanks.

Athletes and Guns - ESPN
I don't know how many of you have already read this, but I think its a pretty cool article. If Luke Scott ended up on the Braves, he could protect Chipper and McCann in more than one way.
McCann To DL
We will definitely miss his bat. Hopefully Ross will do what he has been doing at the plate. The only question is, who will bat fourth? My vote is Frenchy.
Rookie of the Year Picks MLBTR
Three of our players are in consideration.
Francoeur's Twitch
I don't know how many of you noticed, but during tonight's game, Francoeur had a twitch in his right eye. I noticed it on several occasions: on the bench, in the on deck circle, and in right field (never when he was up at bat). Perhaps this has been going on for a while, but I have never seen it before. Have any of you?

Will Ohman agrees to terms with Dodgers
Too bad. I would trade Glavine for Ohman in a heartbeat.
Dodgers offer Ohman a 1 year deal
Well, with the year he had last year, this was to be expected. Too bad we couldn't just give him that 2 million and stick Jo Jo in the 5 spot.
Chipper on Hanson: He’ll be No. 1 starter
Chipper knows his pitchers. Hopefully this doesn't put any added pressure on Hanson.

Grading The Deal: Griffey Returns To Seattle
He gave the Mariners an A! Are you kidding me?
MyFox Atlanta | Could Andruw Jones Come Back to the Braves?
Andruw looks strong. McCann's weight loss is visible.
Jeff Francis
Francis, 27, won seventeen games in 2007 with the NL Champion Rockies. Francis was never an overpowering pitcher but more of a "crafty-lefty." He was never viewed as an ideal ace pitcher, and would fit nicely behind Jurrjens, Vazquez, and possibly Smoltz. Francis is coming off of an awful 2008 in which he won a mere four games with an ERA of 5.01. Atlanta could probably acquire him for a few mid-level prospects and possibly a bullpen arm. In November of 2006, Francis signed an affordable four-year, 13.25 million contract with a fifth-year option. This would keep him in Atlanta for 2009, 2010, and possibly 2011. I wouldn't give up too much to get him but he would certainly add depth to an "aceless" rotation. Just speculation, but tell me what you think.
