Why The Colts Might Be Releasing More Players Soon

In 2004, the Indianapolis Colts placed the franchise tag on quarterback Peyton Manning as a precaution while the organization finalized an eventual 7-year, $98 million deal with the star QB. The...

PFF thinks Shaun Rogers is worth the risk for Colts, Bengals

Author Khaled Elsayed uses some strong analysis to show proof Rogers is not washed up and should be highly considered by teams needing to upgrade DT. He also states a point I've been trying to make around here: the Colts WILL NOT find the DT they need in the draft, they have to bring one in through free agency. They have tried and failed to do so since Simon/McFarland (both risks too, but ones that worked out for the most part).

Browns' GM Tom Heckert on Shaun Rogers

"Shaun's whole thing -- and he's stated a million times -- is that he's never been on a team that's any good. Every team he's ever been on has been bad. Right or wrong, I think it's taken a toll on him." Heckert also explains why the cuts were made, pointing to the Browns wanting to get younger. The real reason, though, seems to be more about saving money, as the Browns saved nearly $6 million from cutting Rogers alone.

Great Quote from Manning on Austin Collie

Link is above if you want to read the whole thing. Phil Richards-- No one is more impressed with Collie's dedication than the man who threw those passes. Manning-- "He just had a baby and it's Christmas Day and he flies out to Oakland. He's on injured reserve. There's a guy who loves it (football)."
