Blessing in disguise ...

As much as Monta's injury is bad timing for his point guard evolution, I think this may be a good opportunity.

We are undeniably in a transition year now, but this gives us a few options...

M.Williams, will get a chance to start for maybe 2 months, which is enough time to realize whether he has a future or not with us ... as a result, we might start playing smaller and faster again, meaning Bellinelli, Randolf, Buikie will get an inflation of playing time, which isn't a bad thing considering how many questions we have concerning their impact.

Maybe, management will start to admit we are clearly in rebuilding mode, and trade away (Harrington ? jackson?) for youth or draft picks.....or at least not make a stupid trade in an illusion of being able to contend for anything worthy...

This also gives us time to make low risk high reward gambles, suchas finally giving B Wright some playing time without labeling him a bust before he even steps on the court, or signing S.Livingston. Tha ladder could be a good opportunity, because come on, CJ Watson can't defend worth a dam and do you really see him bringing much upside ? Livingston has size and pure point guard skills and was turning into a good PG before his injury...Belinelli could get a chance at being a reliable scoring option off the bench and Heck, we might even see if A.Morrow is worth keeping around...

In any case Monta will be back by the end of the year and we know his worth, and he will have enough time to get accustomed to the PG before the next season when we should really start to gel as a team and make some noise...

I'm disappointed right now but the future looks bright....don't know if I believe but I sure am hoping !!!!

Offseason and Senseless trades !!!

Hi, I'm new to the community, I'm from france and would like to add my 2 cents in regards to the offseason and what this team truly needs..

First of all I' m happy Air France's on and off attitude is gone, even when he played in france his effort never matched up to his athletic ability. I'm not a big fan of the Turiaf signing, however what he brings ( effort, energy, weight) aren't necessarily negative things to have on your bench...

Don't boo Baron, he did what 90% of the people on this site would have done... He had injury problems and now has a true financial security playing in his hometown !!!

Come on, give him a break, he gave you one by ending the playoff drought !

And in any case, management needs to be accountable for their plans and decisions....baron didn't seem to be in their plan...

We overpaid a bit for Biedrins but you often do to have a decent big man..

I think we overpaid a bit for maggette, but if he thrives in this system, which i think he will, it won't be a bad move after all.

Looks like a good draft right now...

In any case what is done, is done and there's only one thing you can do is support your team, bitching ain't going to help..

Senseless trade rumors !!!!!

None of all these trades make any sense ...

Okafor, Wilcox, J Smith, R.Wallace...etc...

These are not difference makers !!!! they are 3rd of 2nd options at best.....and until Monta develops a bit more, our team is filled with 2nd and 3rd options...

Okafor undersized as a center and his offensive game is too limited...it's not because he was a second pick that he brings much more than biedrins or turiaf...plus he has already had some injuries...

Wilcox is barely a poor man's okafor with a few post moves...

Atlanta, would be stupid to trade Josh Smith especially to get a guy (harrington) they didn't want to resign a few years ago... He would be the only "intelligent move" (he's 22) but a trade has to make sense on both ends... plus, this is his hometown...

Rasheed Wallace is old and inconsistent and his acquisition would just be bad timing ( he would have made sense if Baron were still here ) and switch into a go for it all mode trading some youth for vets....

But now we are clearly in rebuilding mode so some people need to stop their denial...

Either trade harrington, jackson for expiring contracts (I would be a bit sad if SJack left), youth or picks...

Or just let their contracts expire as out young players grow...

I'm excited about Anthony Randolf....looks like he has tremendous upside and skills !!! (I know summer league is summer league but still...flashes of brilliance are something to look forward to.) Everybody compares him to many players, but he really has his own style...Somewhere between a Lamar Odom, T.Prince type of player but really his own..

I'm a bit worried about B Wright....lacks energy and has shown early signs of a potential bust .... hope this doesn't carry on...

Happy about Bukie, and signing A.Morrow, undrafted but always ready to hustle...(are you kidding me from beyond the arc!!!)

And really looking forward to seeing M.Ellis at the point and maybe comming into his own as the first of a new breed of PGs....Please stop the Iverson comparisons !!! Iverson can straight ball but Monta Freakin flys and expect him to go to the FT line a lot more !!!

GO Warriors, we're young and fast as hell, and shit I've been waiting for 13years, so another few ain't going to hurt !!!!!
