Niners fan since 1962, Notre Dame fan since 1962, Mets fan since 1969. Football is far and away my favorite sport. My earliest memories are John Brodie leading the NIners to 3 straight playoff appearences (knocked out by the Cowboys all three years). Notre Dame winning the national championship against Alabama 1972. Joe Montana drafted by Niners in 1979(went to ND). Montana leads Niners to victory over hated Cowboys in NFC championship, on the way to our first super bowl victory cements my love for both teams and the game. Best early memory watching my father coach high school football, just being on the practice field made me feel like I was 100 miles high. Still get crazy watching replays of the USA hockey victory over the Russians in 1980 games love this country too.
