Devon Still left off All-America team
Hard to believe it, but Devon Still was left off the All-America team, according to Philadelphia Inquirer writer Jake Kaplan. Among those chosen ahead of Still for the defensive line: Illinois defensive end Whitney Mercilus, Michigan State defensive tackle Jerel Worthy, South Carolina defensive end Melvin Ingram and Texas defensive end Alex Okafor. Mercillus had a great year for Illinois, but Devon's stats were impressively better than those of the others selected. You can read more here:

Bradley Now Said to be Frontrunner for Pitt Job
The York Daily Record has a story this morning suggesting that Tom Bradley is the front-runner for the head football coaching job at Pitt. It also says a Pittsburgh area TV station has reported that Bradley has accepted the job. Pitt denied the report, but the Associated Press confirmed that Bradley interviewed for the job with Pitt athletic director Steve Pederson and members of Chancellor Mark A. Nordenberg's administration. Lot of smoke. You can see the story here: http://www.ydr.com/psu/ci_17021008
In a Pinch, Paterno Preys on Temple
Nice piece by Mike Poorman about the PSU-Temple series and the three Temple coaches who once played for Joe.
Notre Dame AD Says Football Conference on the Table
After years of trying to avoid it, Notre Dame says it's considering joining a football conference. Specifically, in a New York Times blog, the athletic director is reported to be saying that the school is considering giving up its football independence and joining a conference, although that is not its preference. The writer is Pete Thamel, and here's a link:

Kelly to Coach Notre Dame
The New York Times is reporting that Cincinnati coach Brian Kelly will be announced as the new coach of Notre Dame tomorrow, 12/11. It says Kelly is expected to inform his team at their football banquet tonight. I can envision the speech now: Well men, we accomplished a lot together. Be proud of yourselves. I'm out of here. Will be interesting to see if he has any more luck than his last several predecessors.
Poz's good year for the Bills
Looking around for football news during this fallow period of the year, it occurred to me to check in on how our former hero Paul Pozlusny faired playing his first full year for the Buffalo Bills following his rookie-year injury. Didn't get to see him much on TV. Looks like it was stellar; according to the Bills' Website, Poz was the team's leading tackler with 110 tackles, including 87 solo stops. The next closest player was Kawiki Mitchell with 82 tackles, 57 of which were solos. Way to go Poz.
