and let's be real Hayward is not much of a 2 way wing, Parson's is slightly better on defense but still not that great.

And I think that's why having Pau, McDermott, Brooks and Mirotic on the roster solves that problem.
Commented on Bulls making renewed push for Kevin Love, per report on Jul 22 2014, 5:57p - 1 reply
So you don't think a combination of Butler, Snell, McDermott, Dunleavy, and even Mirotic can achieve for us on the wing what Manu did last year?

I meant Manu and Duncan are both future HOFers

you get what im tryna say tho, I couldn't think of a better comparison for Manu on our roster.

Yes they have 3 hall of famers, but really at this point in time is Timmy that much better than say Noah or Taj (again right now, career wise Tim Duncan is one of the greatest to ever play the game and this is in no way a shot at him)

word, Love is a superstar, but the spurs proved this year that depth trumps a few big names. I like Love, but is he worth gutting our entire team for.

all class. he gave us nothing but the best and deserves nothing but the best in return.

me neither until I saw that tweet saying the Bulls and the Thunder both offered him a partially guaranteed contract for this upcoming season

loved nick johnson at Arizona and if he's available that would be HUGE, but i don't see Houston passing on him, they drafted him in the 2nd, and now with Lin out, they need PG depth.

As talented as Waiters is, I can't see us going after him. He's a diva and has recently said he has no desire to be on the bench, even with Lebron in town and having the opportunity to play for 6th man of the year and a championship.

Another name to float out there is Nolan Smith, the former Duke Blue Devil (we love Duke players) who's been playing overseas the last few years.

Yea but Gasol/Mirotic would be awful defensively. Honestly as much as I wanna see Taj start (he deserves it), It's prob better to pair Noah and Pau/ Taj and Mirotic just so we have a balance between offense and defense.

god damn Snell is legit darker than Wesley Snipes

I know its just summer league, but god damn Tony Snell.

agreed. Thibs only plays youngins if they understand his defensive schemes and can implement them, Snell has all the physical tools to be a dominant defensive SG.

I feel you but we need depth. Honestly if it's me, I'm throwing a low ball offer at MarShon Brooks.
Commented on NBA Free Agency Rumors: Bulls and Pau Gasol 'nearing agreement' on Jul 13 2014, 11:25a
I hate the idea of trading Taj. And i dont think we do it, but I think Alec Burks can be had for less than Taj.
Commented on NBA Free Agency Rumors: Bulls and Pau Gasol 'nearing agreement' on Jul 12 2014, 8:58p
We def need a backup PG.
Commented on NBA Free Agency Rumors: Bulls and Pau Gasol 'nearing agreement' on Jul 12 2014, 8:17p - 1 reply
agreed, and if we've learned anything from Thibs its that he gets the most out of players if they buy into the system, especially retreads (JL3, Nate Rob, Augustin).
Commented on NBA Free Agency Rumors: Bulls and Pau Gasol 'nearing agreement' on Jul 12 2014, 8:05p - 1 reply
Apparently no one has tried to sign Augustin yet, could keep his price low, and he said he wanted to be back he's really comfortable here and owes the FO a lot for giving him another shot.
Commented on NBA Free Agency Rumors: Bulls and Pau Gasol 'nearing agreement' on Jul 12 2014, 8:01p
The one bright side to this is that if Pau can teach Mirotic to play like he did in his prime, Mirotic can end up being one of the best PF's in the game. Has better range that Pau ever did.
Commented on NBA Free Agency Rumors: Bulls and Pau Gasol 'nearing agreement' on Jul 12 2014, 8:00p
SG/ SF for Room Exemption. Al Farouq-Aminu, Wesley Johnson, Xavier Henry, MarShon Brooks, Jordan Crawford, Brandon Rush, Rodney Stuckey, and possibly Evan Turner?
Commented on NBA Free Agency Rumors: Bulls and Pau Gasol 'nearing agreement' on Jul 12 2014, 7:54p
They won't officially sign him until the 16th. That's the deadline for amnesty. Until then they'll keep attempting to trade Boozer.

If Melo commits to us, Phil has 0 leverage.

Commented on Carmelo Anthony still considering Bulls, per Stephen A. Smith on Jul 10 2014, 11:59p
Not boozer alone, but the picks are. But honestly Boozer> Amare/ Bargniani. Plus on the bright side, when the seasons over they have Amare's $23 mil, Barg's $11.5 mil, and Boozers $16.8mil all coming off the books. They will have a TON of cap space.
Commented on Carmelo Anthony still considering Bulls, per Stephen A. Smith on Jul 10 2014, 11:57p
We sold Melo on our starting 5, that he could come in and automatically have the most complete and talented team he's ever played with, that includes Jimmy and Taj.

yea, unlike Chris Broussard, Stephen A actually has reliable sources. I trust him more than any other ESPN analyst.

I don't think either would be dealt in a sign and trade. The main selling point of Melo coming here is that with Taj and Jimmy in the lineup we have the most compete team in the east.
Commented on Carmelo Anthony still considering Bulls, per Stephen A. Smith on Jul 10 2014, 11:32p - 1 reply
hes a career 39% shooter and 30% from 3. He can't shoot
Commented on Carmelo Anthony to remain with Knicks, per report on Jul 10 2014, 5:36p - 1 reply
and somehow he still managed 14ppg on 49% FG. We know that at this point he's not a great shooter, but 35% isnt awful.
Commented on Carmelo Anthony to remain with Knicks, per report on Jul 10 2014, 3:01p
And I know this is a long shot, but if Lebron and Bosh leave Miami, wat you think about making a run at D Wade.
Commented on Carmelo Anthony to remain with Knicks, per report on Jul 10 2014, 12:08p
Remember they said the same things about Jo when he was a rookie. And that entire Indy team is dysfunctional not just him.
Commented on Carmelo Anthony to remain with Knicks, per report on Jul 10 2014, 12:05p
Honestly if I was Phil, I wouldn't have given Melo 5 years $129m. He's a great scorer, but that's it. And on a team that's no where near close to contention, a great scorer isn't gonna do much for you.
Commented on Carmelo Anthony to remain with Knicks, per report on Jul 9 2014, 8:03p
Well we have Dunleavy and Hinrich, drafted McDermott, and are bringing over Mirotic, all very good shooters.

Commented on Carmelo Anthony to remain with Knicks, per report on Jul 9 2014, 7:26p - 1 reply
Hayward bombed this year as the #1 option, now he's worth the max? Chandler Parsons looks so good cuz he can spot up and shoot 3's all day while defenses are accounting for Harden and Dwight.
Commented on Carmelo Anthony to remain with Knicks, per report on Jul 9 2014, 7:23p - 2 replies
He's the best option for us on the wing for all those stats and for the fact that at 23, he has more upside than anyone else on the market.
Commented on Carmelo Anthony to remain with Knicks, per report on Jul 9 2014, 7:14p - 1 reply
and by making the pacers worse we cement ourselves as one of the top 2 teams in the east, arguably the best if DRose can stay healthy
Commented on Contingency plans: What should the Bulls do if they miss on Carmelo Anthony? on Jul 7 2014, 2:18p
Im with you drakedog. He's young, extremely talented and available. And if anyone can rein a guy like him in it's Thibs (and Jo).

I think this whole Lance stephenson thing is getting blown out of proportion. Yea he blew in Lebrons ear.

Im with you 100% on that. I think if we lose out on Melo, Born Ready should be our main target.
Commented on With chances for Carmelo Anthony dwindling, Bulls should launch all-out assault for Kevin Love on Jul 6 2014, 4:20p
shit if we could pry hayward away from Utah for that same figure i'd be all for it, but from everything i've heard, Utah will match any offer sheet. And no way is he worth Max money IMO.
Commented on With chances for Carmelo Anthony dwindling, Bulls should launch all-out assault for Kevin Love on Jul 4 2014, 11:25p
Lance Stephenson can be that guy. He's a wildcard, but the boy can play. And with a bigger offensive role, there's no reason to believe he can't be a 15-20ppg kinda guy.
Commented on With chances for Carmelo Anthony dwindling, Bulls should launch all-out assault for Kevin Love on Jul 4 2014, 6:20p - 1 reply
Don't get me wrong, I really hope we can get Melo. And if that fails and we can somehow swing a deal for Love, that would be great too.
