Posting on BEdge is like looking in a mirror that reflects my character and values: How do I treat other people who have different opinions than I do? How do I respond to criticism? etc . . . There I times when I don't like what I see. I credit BEdge with helping to make me acutely aware of some of my character defects, thanks BEdge!

Dr. A (Steve Alexander) is my new man-crush. He is a fantasy basketball guru and is a passionate indie rock fan. He writes sweet columns on Rotoworld that combine those two glorious obessions of mine . . . dude e-mails with Stephen Malkmus almost every day and plays in a league that includes Malk along w/ Doug Martsch of Built to Spill, and members of other local Portland bands. He is, in his words in an e-mail he wrote to me, "living a friggin dream man". That is my new career goal: write about fantasy basketball and indie rock all day and get paid for it.
