http://www.sbnation.com/users/noquarterback Posts made by noquarterback on SB Nation http://www.dailynorseman.com/2008/4/25/460666/vikings-need-a-starting-qu noquarterback Fri, 25 Apr 2008 21:21:42 -0000 <p>Tavaris Jackson will never be a starting quarterback.&nbsp; He started poorly in 2007 and he ended poorly in 2007.&nbsp; I saw no improvement!&nbsp; If anything he digressed.&nbsp; His mechanics were an abomination as he kept throwing interceptions with only one foot or no feet on the ground.&nbsp; He alone is responsible for most of the Vikings losses with is horrible play.&nbsp;&nbsp;The truth is that he is by far the worst quarterback in the NFL!&nbsp; He would be lucky to find a job as the third quarterback on another NFL team.</p> <p>If Brad Childress does nothing to address the STARTING QUARTERBACK situation then the Vikings will again be 8-8 or worse.&nbsp; Teams know about Adrian Peterson and how wonderful he is.&nbsp;&nbsp; They know to bring 9 in the box to stop the run.&nbsp; They know that Tavaris Jackson can not beat them with his horrific play.&nbsp; There will be no bail outs this year by Peterson.&nbsp; He needs help and help means a REAL quarterback....not a highschool one!&nbsp; If Childress sticks with Jackson, they should both be released.&nbsp; Childress for&nbsp;NOT HAVING A CLUE&nbsp;and Jackson for being THE WORST QUARTERBACK IN THE NFL!</p> <p>I love the Allen move on the defensive line...but I not have done it.&nbsp; That move should have been made to get&nbsp; A QUARTERBACK.&nbsp; Ask yourself, which position is more important?&nbsp; Who touches the ball on every offensive play?&nbsp; Who is the team leader?&nbsp;&nbsp; Who is responsible for make crucial decisions during the game?&nbsp; Yes...the quarterback!&nbsp;&nbsp; If the Vikings had made the same exact trade for McNabb ...the Eagles disgruntled QB...we might me talking Superbowl not another 8-8.&nbsp; Think about it?&nbsp;&nbsp; A spread offense with four receivers wide and a passing threat for defenses to worry about.&nbsp; Add to that, Adrian Peterson, running against a spread defense.&nbsp; Anyone else agree with me...let me know.</p> <p>As far as the draft,&nbsp;now that the Vikings have played most of their hand, we must draft for a quarterback.&nbsp; My suggestion is Booty from USC.&nbsp; He will be available when the Vikings draft and he is a potential sleeper.&nbsp;&nbsp; He played in a pro style offense and he is mechanically sound with great accuracy.&nbsp; His arm may not be the strongest but neither was Joe Montana's.&nbsp; I feel that Booty could help the Vikings this year if given the chance.</p> <p>&nbsp;</p>
