Memo To Self Loathing Cleveland Sports Fan
This is directed at the flare up of "whoa is me" Cavs fan due to "The Elbow". And, indirectly, at everyone else like you.
You are worse than a troll. You are the cancer that rots from within. You are the dysfunctional booze hound who comes home late from the bar to wreck havoc on your family. Without you, flowers bloom and the sun shines. For the past half a century, you have contributed directly to the downfall of our fair city. It is not the National Media, nor is it Boston Fan. Their bravado is to be expected. Have some self respect. I know who you are because I used to be you.
Being 33, I have lived through a lot of the suck. I remember punching a whole in my bedroom wall (still there to this day, sorry Mom & Dad) after The Shot. I remember my Grandfather's look of consternation as he saw The Fumble while we were all prematurely celebrating a trip to the Super Bowl. I remember fellow college floor-mates cheering for the Marlins after The Blown Save, just because they were from Chicago. And more recently, I remember the epic 2007 Indians collapse. That one hurt.
After the Cavs were eliminated from the playoffs last year, I came on this board and let my emotions loose. But then I read Turk's famous "We Got This" post and I started on my path to realization. From time to time, I still have my moments. But now I just try to take all of this in stride. I look at my one year old daughter and think, "you know what, this stuff is not that important comparatively." I am a die-hard Cleveland sports fan, but I will no longer fall prey to the vicious cycle. Even if the Cavs (God willing) win the whole damn thing this year, you, dear self-loather, will still be a problem. It's time to put an end to this.
Let's pretend that Lebron plays the rest of his career in Cleveland. And maybe we get 3-4 championships out of this. But guess what? When he retires, the Cavs will more than likely be heading back to mediocrity or worse. Or let's look at the other side of the coin. The Cavs lose this year and he bolts for Chicago. Either way, you will experience one of the best (and perhaps The Best) basketball players OF ALL TIME. And why would that not be good enough for you? Because the Cavs didn't win anything? Nope. It's because you hate being from here anyway.
At this point, either get on the bus or stay off. We don't need your hate around this city. Be more positive about everything. Your life does not depend on sports championships. "THEY" are not trying to keep us down. You are.

Quinn Fined For Suggs Hit
Brady Quinn says that the NFL has fined him for the hit on Suggs. So I ask, when will Dwan Edwards get fined for the hit on Cribbs?
