Error was on Lewis: He used Bo's towel

WASHINGTON — Even at the White House, Fred Lewis managed to put himself in the clubhouse fine box.

Giants players, coaches and staff toured the presidential residence on a warm and humid day in the District, and as the group walked from the South Lawn to a receiving room, Lewis grabbed a towel and wiped the perspiration from his forehead.

"Oh, no, no," the tour guide exclaimed with Lewis in mid-dab. "Those are for the dog."

The team burst out laughing, and the tour guide apologized for embarrassing Lewis.

"Naw, that's the best part," right-hander Matt Cain said. "Trust me, he does it all the time."

President Obama was out of the country, but the Giants got to meet one member of the first family — Bo, their Portuguese water dog. Bo got a little too frisky when Dave Flemming went to pet him, biting the sleeve of the broadcaster's sportcoat.
