3 Teams, 2 Trades, 1 Signing: Wizards, Rockets, Pacers

I was kinda checking out Indy Cornrows and looking at some of their members' trade proposals as the Pacers' season goes down the tubes (unfortunately, I really wanted them to beat the Heat.)...

About that whole tanking thing...

This just in: Wiggins is slipping out of contention for No. 1-2. The NBA guys I talk to say that will be Parker and Kansas seven-footer Joel Embiid. At No. 3, Wiggins has yet to separate himself from Kentucky power forward Julius Randle, Australian point guard Dante Exum and, depending on whom you talk to, Arizona forward Aaron Gordon.

Wizards as a Third Party

I mentioned in another post about how the Wizards could be a third party in another deal but many shot down the idea because the Wiz don't necessarily have the capspace. My thinking, though, was...

Intriguing Wizards Front Office Addition

Maybe they're following the OKC model even more than we think.

Wizards closer to getting their Dwight Howard?

With the dynamic backcourt of Wall and Beal, it's possible the Wizards could be next year's Warriors. Yes, Golden State won a first round series, something the Wizards would likely struggle to pull off if matched up against Miami or Indiana in 2014. That doesn't mean they couldn't be considered an intriguing team on the rise. --Ben Standig, CSN

Good Grade for the Wizards' Off-Season Moves from Pounding the Rock

The Wizards had a good off-season. They drafted their small forward of the future in Otto Porter, got a good back-up point guard in Eric Maynor and re-signed Garrett Temple (remember him?) and Martell Webster. They are probably done now but all those moves made sense. This is a team that wants to get to the playoffs and I'd be surprised if they didn't.

Houston Rockets trade Thomas Robinson to Portland Trail Blazers

The Rockets are the frontrunners to sign Howard, and unloading Robinson's contract is the final hurdle to create the space necessary to make the move. Portland will send the Rockets the draft rights to Kostas Papanikolau and Marko Todorovic and two future second-round picks, league sources said.

KG and Pierce to the Nets

The Brooklyn Nets are finalizing a trade with the Boston Celtics to acquire future Hall of Famers Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. The Nets have discussed a possible deal to land Paul Pierce and Kevin Garnett. The deal is pending Garnett waiving his no-trade clause. The Celtics believe that sending Garnett with Pierce to a contender in a big market could convince Garnett to waive the no-trade clause, sources said.

Defense worthy of a Prince

For some reason, there are many on here who don't seem all that impressed by the Otto Porter-Tayshaun Prince comparison. I'm not sure how many of you remember just how consistently good Prince was for a long time. It doesn't take elite scoring to be valuable to your team. One of the primary reasons for the Pistons' title back in '04 was the defense Prince threw at Kobe Bryant.

Crabbe surprised by Wizards' interest

Allen Crabbe would be a really nice pick-up if he's still around in the 2nd round. Perhaps even worth trying to move into the late first round to get?

The Otto Lotto

Okay, this is my first FanPost and I'm afraid I don't really have anything deep or profound to say, just a thought I'd toss out there to be picked apart by my fellow BullZards/Wizlets fans. Due to...
