Projected Lineup 8/12/09

Okay, so last time I did this it turned into a mad posting of random signs that had nothing to do with baseball, some of which were actually funny.

http://www.bleedcubbieblue.com/2009/7/20/955512/7-20-09-projected-lineup

Since all Cub players that are curently on the roster absolutely suck against Pedro Martinez, I'm pretty much guessing blindly on this one.

http://sports.yahoo.com/mlb/players/4875/batvspit;_ylt=An1iJX80VifZZE8dLHDNAo2FCLcF?year=career&type=Pitching

Leading off, playing Shortstop: Ryan Theriot (Riot)

Hitting 2nd, playing Right Field: Milton Bradley (Milt)

The number 3 hitter will be Derrek Lee, playing First Base (D-lee)

Jake Fox will bat cleanup and play the hot corner (Foxy)

Hitting 5th in Center Field: Kosuke Fukudome (Fook)

Hitting 6th in Left Field: Alfonso Soriano (Sori)

Mike Fontenot will play Second Base and bat 7th (Fonty or Little Babe Ruth)

Koyie Hill will have the catching duties and bat 8th (?)

Jeff Samardzija will pitch and bat 9th

7/20/09 Projected Lineup

leadoff in Center Field: Reed Johnson (yes, I know that Rodrigo Lopez is a righty but Johnson kills him)

Hitting 2nd, playing Short Stop: Ryan Theriot

Hitting 3rd and playing 1B: Derrek Lee

The cleanup hitter will be Aramis Ramirez

Hitting 5th in Right Field: Jake Fox (no Bradley, he's working with Lou on his swing)

Playing Left Field, hitting 6th: Alfonso Soriano

The number 7 hole will be filled by Mike Fontenot, who will play Second Base

Hitting 8th, the backstop: Koyie Hill

Hitting 9th and pitching: Ted Lilly

He will be used as a starter, making 5 million, most as incentives though

Lineup of the Future! (Using Only Cubs' Farm Players and Young Players on the Cubs)

Well, so what its a bit early to be thinking about the future but here's what I think the future lineup will be:

Leading off in Center FIeld: Sam Fuld

Hitting in the #2 hole and playing Short Stop: Ryan Theriot

Playing Third Base and hitting 3rd: Josh Vitters

Hitting clean-up and playing Left Field: Jake Fox

Hitting fifth and playing First Base: Micah Hoffpauir

Hitting Sixth at Catcher: Geovany Soto

Hitting 7th and playing Right Field: Brad Snyder

AT Second Base, hitting 8th: Mike Fontenot

Hitting 9th unless Tony La Russa becomes the Manager: The Pitcher

The Reserves:

Catcher: Chris Robinson

1B/OF or OF/1B Doug Deeds

SS/2B Andres Blanco

SS Starlin Castro

LF/CF Tyler Colvin

Well Colvin might make it into the Cubs starting lineup in a couple of years, but if Tomimy John strikes again, he'll probably just be a hot guy off the bench

Possible Pedro

MAKE SURE YOU HIT THE "REC BUTTON"

So I'm gessing you guys have heard about how the Cubbies possible signing of Pedro Martinez.

1st bad thing: Randy Wells gets kicked out of the starting rotation

2nd bad thing: Spoiled Pedro get the 5 million he wants, even though he only pitched last season like a 990 k guy

3. Jake Fox gets sent down since Fat Lou likes having flexibility, so the Cubs will have 13 pitchers on the roster

4. Sure this is in case that Rich Harden has back issues later in the season, but what if the signing of Pedro ends up like the Steve Trachsel's did in 2007 (ugly)

All in all, don't sign him, Jim. You're already the most hated man in Chicago (besides Steve Bartman)

10 Stupidest Trades Ever By Jim Hendry (in my opinion)

1.Trading Away Mark DeRosa-sure we got some worthy prospects for D-Ro but Mike Fontenot isnt quite ready to be an everyday second baseman, or third baseman. That brings me to my second point: if we would've not traded D-Ro we'd hav a legit third baseman to fill in for Ramirez. And the "salary eat up" that Hendry was doin was supposed to be for Peavy but he's on the DL right now so i dont really care about that, as of the moment.

2.Trading Away Matt murton-if he'd just play he could be a 20-30 homer guy and hit about .280 but no, Hendry goes out and gets Cliff Floyd and Soriano. Im not sayin that soriano sucks but if we wouldnt've got him we could hav Murton hitting homers and hittin in the 6 hole and havin The Riot in the #1 hole and not in the 8 hole.

3.Trading Away (see where im gettin) Rocky Roquet-he didnt just have a cool name but he had a low 90s fastball and had the potential to close or set up Marmol in the future

4.Getting Kevin Gregg-When hendry said that Woody deserved a multi-year deal, did he have the 2 years in cleveland in mind? I know thats more that 1 year but still. Wood was just gettin back into the grooves of things when Hendry just let him go. Then he trades prospect Jose Ceda for injury-prone Gregg. He's blown 2 randy wells victories. How can the kid be 0-3 with a 2.55 ERA? Well whatever, I got off topic there.

5.Trading Away Michael Wuertz-if you wern't gunna keep woody then why didnt you hav wuertz, Marmol, and gregg battle it out for the closers role. Wuertz has been dominant in the minors and has a killer slider for a strike out pitch

6.Trading Away Gregg Maddux-so what that he had only part of a season remaining on his contract! The guy was a fan favorite and aslo a player favorite. Since Hendry traded him he has gone up and up the wins ladder.

7.Getting Juan Pierre-sure they guy can steal but just this year he has learned to hit. Remember Ricky Nolasco? Yeah the now really good pitcher we traded for him? And oh yeah we traded Sergio mitre for him also but now he go caught fo using PEDs

8.Getting Tony Womak-What'd he actually do for the Cubs besides kill his back?

9.Getting Jason Kendall-ok so the guy couldnt hit, couldnt throw out runners and didnt mentor Soto. WHAT WAS HIS USE?

10.Steve Trachsel-he was supposed to provise vereran encouragement, he has a veteran all right. not much in the encouragement department
