from insidethedodgers.com:

" few of you have emailed me at various times this season to ask about Scott Elbert, the Dodgers' first-round pick in the 2004 draft. He's the left-hander who is one of the organization's most prized pitching prospects who missed almost all of last season and so far all of this one after undergoing major shoulder surgery last spring. Well, he was promoted from extended spring training to Double-A Jacksonville today, which I ASSUME means he will start pitching in actual minor-league games soon. To make room for him on the Suns' roster, the Dodgers released Rick Asadoorian, a journeyman minor-league who was in big-league camp this year. "

Really anxious to see how he does......

called up, as was anticipated after they both missed last night's Tacoma game, and McLaren said they would be called up "sooner rather than later". May cost the Mariners, since they'll be eligible for super 2 status sooner than if they waited til May 8. Hope these guys can help jump start the M's offense, and more importantly, I hope Wlad is ready for the move. I think Clement's bat has nothing left to prove in the minors.

Moyer traded

Jamie Moyer traded to the the Phillies for Andrew Barb and Andrew Baldwin, plus cash. Baldwin's a 23 year old pitching in A ball , Barb's 21, also in A ball, but a reliever. I understand trading Moyer, as the Mariner's season is long over and he is a free agent at the end of the year. But, I don't know much about either of these guys. Are they anything other than marginal prospects?
