2010 Draft Prospects: Who should the Royals take?

Who should the Royals draft this year? We look at the best options.

11-18

It was fated to be, wasn't it? I wonder if we will hear as much about this as we did 18-11. This means the Royals record over the last 162 games is 58-104. On the flip side, I think this start means that we will now go on a tear and finish with 97 wins, right?

Story on Draft prospect Jameson Taillon

Harper gets most of the press, but this guy is right up there with him for best draft prospect. He will cost a bunch of money but he sounds like the real deal---upper 90s heat, a couple of great breaking pitches, already has a change--and he has the smarts to know what to do with his stuff.

2010 Early Draft Preview

We are 4 1/2 months away from the draft and about a month away form the college baseball season.   I thought I would take a look at who some of the likely contenders are for the Royals top...

Royals Review Final Community Prospect List

The Royals Review Community puts together a Top 10 Prospect List for the Royals.

Royals Review Community Prospect: #10

The Bianchi supporters finally get their day.  I know some folks have been voting for him for some time.  If this past vote is any indication, there should be quite a fight for the #10 spot. I'm...

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #9

The last vote was, indeed, a close one.  Noel Arguelles edged Jeff Bianchi 40% to 38%.  Now we move on to Prospect #9.  I've added Jordan Parraz and Kila Kaaihue since somebody asked for him in...

Royals Top Prospects: Overview

We've covered the Royals Top 60 Prospects. The state of the Royals Minor League system defies a one or two word synopsis.  The system is deep, young, toolsy, and risky.  They lack elite talent...

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #8

The last couple of polls have been blowouts.  Tim Melville won the last poll easily with 52% of the vote. I think this vote is going to be a lot closer but we'll see. As before, the choices are...

Royals Top 30 Prospects: #6-1

We made it.  Here it is: The Top 6 7 Prospects in the Royals system.  I still plan one more post-next week-that will cover the state of the system and break down our prospects in some different...

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #7

I am back from my trip and we can now resume our prospect list.  There is the pleasant surprise of having a brand new name to throw into the mix: Cuban LHP Noel Arguelles.  I hope to have the...

Royals Top 30 Prospects: #12-7

Here are prospects #12-7.  This is where things get really fun as we get to players who you can dream on some.  The next installment will, of course, cover #6-1.  Unfortunately, it won't happen...

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #6

We move on to Prospect #6.  If my math is right, whoever wins this poll should have 42% of the vote.  I'll have prospects #12-7 up tomorrow. As before, the choices are listed alphabetically and...

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #5

Eric Hosmer gets the #4 position with 44% of the vote.  I figured it would be closer but Hosmer seemed to gradually pull away. A couple of notes:  first, Kevin Goldstein at Baseball Prospectus...

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #4

We move on to Prospect #4.  Aaron Crow won the last poll with a healthy 45% of the vote.  I've added the percentage of the vote each person on the list got--just in case you were curious how...

Royals Top 30 Prospects: #18-13

We now cover prospects #18-13.  Some of these players (Herrera, Fortuna, and Sample for example) are in about they same place I would have ranked them last year--or perhaps they even dropped a...

"Royals going hard after Erik Bedard"

Jeff Passan towards the end of this Yahoo article mentions that we are pushing hard for Bedard on a one year incentive laden contact.

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #3

So Mike Moustakas wins with same percentage of votes (36%) that Montgomery won with.  We now move on to #3.  I dropped David Lough from the poll since he got scant support last time.  As before,...

Royals Top 30 Prospects:#24-19

We cover prospect #24-19 in this installment of the our Prospect List.  I decided to drop adding pics because it was such a headache last time.  We've got some high ceiling players on this...

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #2

Mike Montgomery comfortably gets the call as the Royals Top Prospect on our poll.  He beat out Mike Moustakas and Aaron Crow.  So now the fight for #2 begins.  As before, the choices are listed...

Royals Review Community Prospect List: #1

Before we get to the top of my personal Royals Prospect List, I thought we would let you all voice who you think the Royals Top Prospects are.  I think we did this last year, I can't remember who...

Saturday in the AFL

Saturday in the AFL: Mike Moustakas managed to drag his morbidly obese body around the bases for a double and a triple-he's 2-2 so far Aaron Crow: 4ip 1h 0r 0er 0w 4k 7 ground outs, 1 flyout Blake...

Royals Top 30 Prospects: #30-25

Here we are: the Top 30.  I plan to go through them 6 at a time and then do a wrap up/overview of the Royals system.  Since we are doing only 6 at a time, I'm able to squeeze in some previous...

Questions about Analyzing Defense
