Chiefs’ Haley not afraid to turn up the heat
Good read from Michael Silver @ yahoosports.
Who is Nick Sirianni?
I know Sirianni is in his second year with the Chiefs, but what is his background? He obviously has Haley's confidence and ear. Who is Coach Nick and what does he mean for the Chiefs if Weis leaves?
A note to all Chiefs fans. As a Patriots fans living in Dallas, I have always wondered if you guys would ever realize how fortunate you were to land Matt Cassel. We saw something special in 2008 when TB went down in game one and Matt took us to within a coin toss of the playoffs. I have read with amazement the stupidity of pretenders like ProfDumbDumb and Hermsthewhatever and wondered if you would ever get it. You have and I think you now see that this is a remarkable kid with a great career ahead of him.
But more impressive to me is your honesty and willingness to both openly acknowledge your mistake and get behind him with such enthusiasm. I'm not sure that would happen in many NFL towns. That's the mark of really good fans. Props to all of you. If, by some remarkable alignment of the stars, the Chiefs make it through to a championship game against the Pats in NE, I think you'll find fans on both sides of Gillette rooting for your quarterback (just not as hard on our side). I follow your Chiefs every week to see how Matt does. You've got a scary good group of overachievers, terrific management, solid coaching and, with a few key acquisitions, a huge future. Enjoy the ride. See you in the playoffs.

The Top Attraction on TV? No Script, but Plenty of Action
Very good read about NFL games killing the competition on tv.
Patriots have just nine turnovers this year, tied with Chiefs for fewest in NFL ...
Really liking the company we're keeping.

Before a loss to the Broncos two weeks ago, Haley was so upset at his defensive backs that he jumped into a passing drill to illustrate proper technique. He made an interception but paid a heavy price.
"I ripped a tendon right off the quad," Haley said.
It was so bad that Haley underwent three hours of surgery this week and was still hobbling Sunday.
"But I caught the ball, and I didn't miss a practice," Haley said. "I was proud of that."
(This is linked in headlines, but what a great nugget of information about Haley and why he's hobbled.

Undefeated
Unbelievable that KC is last undefeated team in the NFL.. Savor the moment because it won't last. But WOW!
Wow. That was fast.
49ers have fired offensive coordinator Jimmy Raye. More upcoming on NFL.com.
Leon Washington kickoff return for a Seattle TD. Thomas Jones solid day. KC trio Jones, Charles & McCluster combined 310 total yards

Shout out 2 old coach Todd Haley, who would have guessed he would have the Chiefs 3-0! Nice work my friend!
Never thought I'd write this: Todd Haley is giving a coaching clinic today. Mike Singletary might wanna think about another line of work
Romeo Crennel!
This guy rocks! Every time the cameras panned to him on MNF with his glasses perched on his nose I just got a feeling of...calmness. Like the adults are in charge. And watching this interview just confirms it.
Bolts' Binn to go on IR
"Binn was hurt on the Dexter McCluster punt return for a touchdown in the second quarter. Binn finished the game despite what was described as an almost total tear of the muscle off the bone."
Studebaker Extension?
Per Fox Sports
Big Win 4 my guy Todd Haley in KC, well done!

Whoa!
I'm reporting brady quinn was just traded to denver for peyton hillis and 2 conditional draft picks.
If true, didn't see this coming.
Redskins/Larry Johnson
"Redskins sign Larry Johnson. Showing new philosophy- They waited a week b4 making their first misguided FA signing."
Everyone at AP needs to follow Eric--head writer of David Letterman. Superfan.
Lessons Learned From Matt Cassel
Nice soundbite from Cassel via LA Times blog.
Should St.Louis make a move for QB Tyler Thigpen?
Well, here's an interesting twist.
KC playoffs before Buffalo?
"Problem with Bills gig is that town/owner thinks Buff is 'close' but it isn't. 13th/14th best team in AFC. KC will make playoffs before BB"
Love it! Go KC!

amaal Charles voted FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week
From the Mothership. Yes!
Charles Takes It To The House
So awesome. Can't watch enough.
Charles passed on chance to break record
"Over the last two days, PFT has criticized some players and teams that placed individual accomplishments over team goals.
So we're happy to tell you about Chiefs running back Jamaal Charles, who quietly passed on a chance for a huge NFL record Sunday. After piling up 259 rushing yards, a Chiefs franchise record, Charles could have threatened Adrian Peterson's NFL record of 296.
Instead, he asked his coach Todd Haley to take him out and put backup rookie Javarris Williams."
I heard Charles talking about this in his post-game comments, just didn't realize he was talking about passing Peterson's record.
