Sounds From NYC Airwaves
Its days like today where I wish I had a longer commute. I could not get enough of listening to WFAN in NY. They just KILLED the Jets, Mangini, Schottenheimer, and Favre. Boomer was awesome...he crushed "Man-Genius"...just like he did on CBS after the game
It was so satisfying. Most Jets fans feel they have NO SHOT against the fish on Sunday...they are done. If the Pats win at 1:00pm, I can see Giants stadium being less than full and a whole lot of orange in the crowd (Jets fans will rationalize that they are at least sticking it to the dol-fan by reselling their tix for way too much...they did this last year big time for the Pats and Steelers games)
Mangini is likely gone next year, and he can somehow get a 1 year extension (to avoid being a lame duck), he will have to can Schott.
Fans are finally even bringing up how much money they spent to win now...and they could be screwed for a long time. Hey, if Brett leaves, who exactly is going to be their QB? Maybe we trade back Chad for a 1st rounder (just kidding).
I know, lets talk about the Fish...well, when you are a life long Dolphins fan (who also will root for the Giants...rarely a conflict with the dolphins) in NY Metro area, you dream about a Monday morning like today.
I am so proud of this organization. It is back and here to stay.
'09 Draft - This time last year
This time last year, all we could talk about was the draft. Well, how great that we have meaningful games to talk about now. What's even better is that I think we have a boatload of picks in '09. I need some help - anyone know yet what we are looking at from those stellar trades the trifecta made before the season started (Taylor, McCown, and Daniels). Except for 2nd for Taylor, the 3 (we got another pick for Taylor) other picks were undisclosed or conditional I think
It just keeps getting better!
P.S. - After next week, gotta root real hard against those redskins - that pick could be higher than our original 2nd rounder...go figure!
Was There More to UofM Draftees?
Although the picks of Jake and Chad make logical football sense, did anyone realize that the newest co-owner of the Dolphins, Steve Ross, is a huge supporter of his alma mater? In fact the with his rather large donations, the University of Michigan Business School was recently renamed the Stephen M. Ross School of Business.
I guess it could be worse, we could be picking only Arkansas players, a la Jerry Jones in Big D.
